Decline rates

We all know that you can't plan on any number for declines. I thought it would be fun to see what people had.

I need to save this thread so next time FMIL says to only expect a 50-60% acceptance rate I can show her. It stresses me out every time she says it bc it's not how it is!

Right now FH and I are writing out our guests list.

We're at a count of 72,hopefully it won't spill over to triple digits.

I'm betting most of my out of state guests that I send invites will decline, but I'm pretty sure 90% of the people who live in state will say yes...

    Invited: 150

    Accepted: 102

    No shows: 3

    Decline rate: around 33%

As for the no shows, we knew about all three in advance. One was due to not being able to get a babysitter. The other two were a couple that broke up the week before the wedding.

I imagine we'll only have a few say no as we are having a small wedding.

    Invited 140

    Yes RSVPs 80

    No-Shows 5

So 43% decline rate. We were most surprised by the no shows which included my cousin and his family, a really close friend of mine and a family friend. Cousin knew that he wasn't coming for weeks and never told us.

We invited 130 guests, and had 74 at the wedding. A lot of people declined due to it being an adults only event, which was fine with me. The less the merrier lol.

We initially had a 35% decline rate. Then we had 5 more people cancel within the last few days before the wedding, and another 5 no shows, all of whom we were stuck paying for.

I looked at my numbers to see reasons (when they were given) a bunch had standing plans since it's a holiday weekend. A few are out of state and could not get the tI'm off since it's busy season. Others are just a holes lol.

We were at about 50%. Invited just under 140 and had about 70 show up. We had 3 people have to cancel after final numbers (family death & unplanned surgery) and 2 no-shows. 70 ended up being perfect.

    250 invited, 225 attended.

Sunday night, of a 3-day summer holiday weekend. Age 21 and up.

Received all but 2 responses, 10 days before our due date (online RSVPs, through our wedding website).

Once couple cited lack of a babysitter (10 months notice, with STD), and another couple boycotted, because their kids weren't invited (and they had a nanny). Didn't phase us one bit.
