Decline rates

We all know that you can't plan on any number for declines. I thought it would be fun to see what people had.

14% decline rate, and we think 7-10 people no-showed the day of.

Right now I'm hovering around 15% declines. Invited 205, and I'm at about 174 Accepted, but I haven't gotten all of them back yet.

So far only 12/283 people have declined. We haven't heard from 69 people yet and our date is tomorrow. I was thinking we'd land around 250 people, but it's not looking too good lol.

I'm predicting a less than 10% decline rate from what I've been hearing from family. I'm interested to see what it actually turns out to be.

@Randee- bless you! I have been freaking out because our guest list got so much bigger than I thought it would be (mostly because of FH's parents....they literally invited everyone they've ever known, I swear)! I was hoping for around 150-175, but with the 70-80% that you are "supposed to" anticipate, our number would be more around 215-220. (We have plenty of room for everyone, I just didn't want the reception to be that big!) You have given me hope!! :-)

Haven't sent invites yet (obviously way too far out), but at my friend's wedding that FH and I were in last weekend, they invited 278 people. Only 60 RSVP'd and they had to track down the rest (sounds awful!!!) and ended up with 200 people accepting.

About 190 ended up showing, but the ones who didn't did at least call in the days before to say why (most were older and had medical issues).

I just can't imagine having to track down over 200 people who did not RSVP.

How hard is it to let someone know you are coming or not??

    160 accepted

16% decline rate (most declines were from friends 10+ hours away)

We are inviting 40 and I expect to have no more than 5 declines. Because it's a DW we tried to keep the number to people that we knew would come. Anymore than five and I would be surprised considering how close everyone is to us.

Invited 176, have 103 accepted, still tracking down 8 (deadline was Fri). Much higher decline rate than I'd have hoped for, but oh well, it saves $$!

Many of the declines were also plus ones that didn't get used. We have everyone a plus one, and all but one or two that weren't in a serious relationship are coming alone.

    Invited 68

    Accepted 66

    Who will show???

ETA I guess this is sort of a lie. My grandma, brother and aunt received invitations because I felt obligated to send them. I knew they were not coming though.

So 69% acceptance rate. We are having a DW for the majority of guests, so I know that was a deciding point for a lot of couples.

Ugh, this is my nightmare. I'm too far out to send invitations yet, but am trying to somewhat finalize my guest list. My problem is I have extended family that I should invite that all live in another state, about 30 of them. And people local to me that I'd rather see there. I keep going back and forth between inviting the family and "risking" that they all RSVP that they are coming (even though I'd be shocked if any of them wanted to make the trip), or just invite who I want to invite and risk the potential hurt feelings. So I'm either inviting @ 70 people or @ 100 people, and have no clue what my decline rate will be. There's a big difference in the expenses for an additional 30 people! LOL, is it bad to hope that all the far away people will decline? Smiley winking
