Decline rates

We all know that you can't plan on any number for declines. I thought it would be fun to see what people had.

205 invited, 152 accepted which is a 25% decline rate. And I think we had about 5 no-shows: one couple had the wrong date, 2 of DH's cousins' husbands didn't show for some reason (kind of annoying, but oh well) and another guest broke up with their plus-one a few days before the wedding.

Not going to lie, I am hoping for a 15-20 percent decline. We can accommodate all that is invited but, I am just not a fan of large crowds. I am actually looking forward to the declines. But don't tell FH. :0)

I'm inviting 240 but I'm also hoping for declines, my FH when we started planning only told me the numbers of how many he thought would come so the price shocked me when I realized how much it could really be. We can do it but just was caught off guard.

    190 invited

    150 accepted

    ~20% declined

75% of our guests were out of towners (we and most of our friends live in NY; wedding was in DC, where I am from), so we expected a high decline rate.

We invited 132 people and 110 people said yes to coming. Most of our declines were from out of town guests.

While my guest list will probably be altered by the time my invites go out, I expect a 99% acceptance. Most of the 60 are family and very close friends

That's amazing that most of you have that many relatives and knows so many people! We will be only 30... cozy picnic I figured the closest family and friends = less drama

    148 invited

    90 accepted

    84 showed up

All of my family is out of state, so that's the reason for the high declines. I knew a lot of people wouldn't be able to make it. The no-shows were locals.

We are inviting around 140 give or take Including the wedding party. I'm hoping at least 10-15% decline as the tent capacity is 150 and I like elbow room but we are prepared to host and pay for the full amount!

Invited 205. 116 accepted, 2 no shows. We live 5 hours away from 98% of the guest list so we were somewhat expecting that. More money in our pockets! That number was absolutely perfect for us! We were pleased.
