Deciding to Elope and plan something small

Sooooo originally when we got engaged i wanted to elope but FH wanted the whole 9 yards of a wedding...so we found a venue, d.j, photographer. But now we have an opportunity to buy a house and to buy a business. So i told him that we either do those things or a wedding because doing both is way too much financially. He was still iffy on it so I had him weigh the pros and cons and now hes finally on the same page with me to just elope and possibly plan a party next year to celebrate.
Im so relieved now because i rather pay for things that will better our life and future and spending money for one day isn't my thing, but im not knocking those who are all for it!
Im more excited to do this then an actual wedding because its less stress on me. Cheers to happiness and love!
