Davids Bridal wedding dress disappointment

Stacie, on March 3, 2013 at 8:39 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

I am upset over the fact I let the salesperson talk me into something I aint happy with. Now I lost my receipt. I though it was with my stuff but it must of been in my purse and got thrown out. I cant afford another dress so Im pretty much stuck with what I got Smiley sad

Call them and talk to them. I had a horrible first time experience with DB but I called them and told them about it and that I wasn't happy with my dress they got me in that day and helped me find another dress in which I exchanged the old dress for. It was much better. Receipt or no receipt they have on record the dress you bought with style number and all. It is worth a shot and if they truly care about you as a customer they will work with you. Good luck.

Can you show us a pic? And pray about it, sometimes I pray when I lose things and take your time trying to find something when you are in a panic does not help the situation. I pary you find it! Can you alter it some to your liking?

I'm sorry. Smiley sad Is there any way you can resell the dress on something like facebook classifieds or preownedweddingdresses.com to recoup a little of the money?

I would think you can still exchange it for another dress at DB without the receipt up to 90 days after. They should have a record of your purchase or you could bring in a bank statement showing what you paid. I would call and ask about it.

If you paid with a credit or debit card, I would imagine that they'd be able to look up your purchase easily and allow you to exchange it for another dress.

When did you buy your dress?

DB has a record of every sale in their computer. Even if you go to another DB. Just give them a call.

I agree just give the store a call and explain you can't find your receipt but you really are not liking your dress and would like to exchange it for another dress.

I feel like if you go in they will exchange it. Mine mentioned something about that and made it sound like it was no big deal. Do you have any pics of yourself in the dress?

Just don't panic. You should call them and tell them what you told us. There is no reason to feel high pressure to get a dress from their sales ladies. You seriously need s dress you love. If they don't exchange it, sell as nearly new only tried on.

So sorry to hear about your experience. There is some great advice here. Definitely talk to them.

Your dress is pretty, and you look great in it, but I understand...YOU have to love your dress...and you have to love everything about it.

I went to David's first, and this is exactly why I didn't go back. It was the first shop I went to, and I liked one of the first dresses that I tried on...liked...not loved. She PUSHED me sooo hard to purchase the dress that day. I told her no, and she kept going, and I said besides, I'm not purchasing a dress that my mom hasn't seen (my mom wasn't with me). She said why don't you call your mom and ask her to stop by quick (I live 45 mintues away from the shop, she knew that, and tried anyway). After I left, I was so turned off by the consultant, I didn't go back. And I was glad, because it wasn't my dress. I don't understand why shops don't get that if you push someone, you are going to lose sales.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but Davids Bridal will not accept any returns or exchanges, which is a common practice with all Bridal Salons and Bridal Boutiques I network in my circle. If you were unsure of your dress, why did you allow this salesperson talk you into buying a wedding dress? Now you are stuck with it. Why do Brides run to Davids Bridal when all they care about is their sales quota at the end of the day? I am sorry this has happened to you..we hear a lot of horror stories about David's Bridal. I hope they will work with you, but be prepared for the worst senario.

Luckycollection, Davids isn't all that bad... and just like any other bridal store all the people care about is the commission... And I should add that my experience at Davids' was great and not all the store are pushy like you are indicating.

Check your contact, but I believe you said it is still in production... I believe as long as it is still in production you can exchange it.

Give David's Bridal a call and explain everything, I'm sure they'll work with you to be able to exchange it. I had a few horrible experiences while getting my dress and I called David's Bridal to let them know, they were able to fix everything.

You look beautiful in your dress, but if you don't love it then try to exchange it and get the one you love.

    Best of luck Smiley smile

Your dress and the new one are both so beautiful! I hope you find your prefect dress. I had the same.experience but I decided.to have it altered to add appliques to make it perfect for.me, and a statement necklace. The tv shows.lead us to believe we are going to have this fairy tail dress experience but it is not always that easy. Which I think makes it even more.dissapointing sometimes. Goodluck!

Don't believe, LuckyCollection. I exchanged my shoes for a different color after I had already taken them home. I also exchanged my slip and an expensive jewelry set I had already taken home, and they allowed me to put that towards the cost of my alterations which they don't normally do. I even called 2 different David's Bridal stores to confirm their 90 day exchange policy. They even offered to extend the 90 day return policy until I came in for my first fitting and made a note of it in the computer. I also purchased a BM dress from them last year and called in to cancel the order that very same day I placed the order, because the bride would not pay me back for it as promised... they had no problem refunding my money.
