David's Bridal Rant

Super agitated with our local David's Bridal. I went in January to get an idea of BM dresses and tried on 2 wedding dresses that I ended up hating. Super agitated with our local David's Bridal. I went in January to get an idea of BM dresses and tried on 2 wedding dresses that I ended up hating. I left with a sour taste in my mouth when the consultant kept pressuring me to order my dress and BM dresses that day for my October 2018 wedding. Now I know that bridal gowns run small, but it was ridiculous that I am a 2/4 street size and she kept saying well you're a 16/18 here. I left feeling like a blimp when nothing fit and she didn't even put effort into pulling anything...or we just don't carry a sample that will fit you. I had 0 intentions of going back for my gown. Today I got a phone call to confirm a bridal appointment I didn't make. I was at work so I didn't answer or have time to return their call. Has anyone else run into a rogue consultant from DB making appointments without asking? Am I just crazy for being irritated by this? I feel like it's such a crap business move.

David's bridal seems to be hit or miss depending on where you are. The one I went to in Louisiana was awesome. I loved it! The one I went to in Georgia with two bridesmaids wasn't as great.

David's Bridal was The Worst store I went to as well. Granted, I only went to 5, but DB was by far the absolute worst. The other 4 were at least on the same level.

DB was the only place that didn't allow me look through & pull dresses to try on.

(Other places let me look and pull what I wanted to try on first, then they would grab more based on what I liked and disliked)

It was the only place where the consultant ran off to get another dress as I was waiting wearing the previous dress

(other places had them already pulled and ready for me to try on while I was changing, so there was zero wait time)

It was the only place that pressured me for a "come-back" appointment or to buy!

I only got to try on about 6 dresses there, as opposed to the other places that let me try on at least 10-15! And in the same amount of time too. Not to mention, every dress they had me try on was hideous. I seriously did not like a single dress there.

At one point, my BMs looked through a book and asked if I could try on one from there. Consultant said they had it in store, but brought back a different dress she thought I would like better. So we had to ask her again to bring the exact dress from the book and then she finally got it.

They both ended up being ugly anyway.

I absolutely could not wait to get out of David's Bridal. They are the worst.

I had a great experience at DB … I go for my dress alterations on Sunday. Hopefully the good experience will continue.
