Date change need some help

Stephanie, on July 13, 2020 at 7:50 AM Posted in Florida Planning 0 8
We had planned to get married June 4th next year. However my daughter has student teaching in college next year and will graduate. Here lies the issue she is done student teaching June 11th. We thought move the day later into June but its close to July and in Florida im told its so hot then that being outside going to parks etc isnt as fun due to the heat.
If we do fall their which im not happy to move my date to then but dont have much option it seems what month has the nicest weather to avoid rain etc. The plan is to marry on Vero Beach. I had my colors picked as petal pink like a rose gold color and a light teal

If we do fall im gonna need to change my colors i assume for the wedding. Just stinks everything i kinda mapped out now i need to start over again. The virus issues is my other concern if we go to late into fall then that is another issue will battle. She has to teach late due to virus. Now i see what so many are dealing with.

It seems like her graduation is on a different day. May I ask why you cannot keep your date?

Can you switch the date to a Saturday so she can fly in and out? Friday arrive and Sunday leave?

Then your only option is to postpone. Honestly summers in Florida even in June can be miserable and you risk rain out of nowhere. I say this living in Tampa Bay. Not too many options around postponing so if you want to keep this date here are the logical options:

1 - your daughter cannot make it

2 - your daughter can ask for Friday off and leave Thursday evening but she would need to see if this would impact her. Maybe her mother's wedding would suffice as a reason and she can come back Sunday.

3 - pay more for the Saturday wedding so she can for sure come. It would suck but might be worth having her there.

4 - switch the date to the fall. I think fall weddings are lovely. Nothing wrong with a summer wedding but just bare in mind Florida weather and temperatures.

Hopefully you can keep things as planned without changing but I would have your daughter see her options first before making decisions.

As a teacher, I’m surprised she already knows where she will be placed for student teaching and the dates of the placement. Also, student teaching dates typically align with when the college is in session, so the last day of school where she will be teaching doesn’t mean that’s her last day, too. I’ve had quite a few student teachers over the years, and I don’t recall any of them being there until the last day of school because college tends to finish up in May.
