Dance floor vs wood floor? Which did you pick?

Spark, on June 30, 2022 at 11:36 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
So venue has wood floor but also a not so attractive dance floor which is more restrictive (smaller). Some brides use it and some do not. What have you done and why? Dance floor vs wood floor? Which did you pick? 1

Ours is a wood floor too. But for us, we’re either going to dance … or dance lol so it works either way. We could have concrete and we’d still be dancing. Dance floor vs wood floor? Which did you pick? 2

My opinion would be for the wood floor it aesthetically looks better, and if the photographer(s) or videographer decide to take a couple lower angled shots I think it would photograph better than the dance floor option.

The venue we used had very old hardwood floors that were repurposed from other mills that had been torn down, but a section of it was concrete floor. It bothered me at first especially because it was in front of the doors I was to walk out of, but I knew there wasn't anything I could do to change it. As I couldn't put a runner down because it would have made it too slippery to walk and cause issues for one of our guest who was in a wheelchair.

I personally like the venue’s wood floors. I think they look clean and you also don’t have to worry about any size restrictions for the dance floor. Have the best time at your wedding!

Nice! I was only worried because ours appears to be natural wood so not best for a good slide 🤣

Lol - can they polish it first? That might help some.

I’m curious why the dance floor is considered “restrictive”. I can tell a difference between the pictures but I would lean toward the wood floors so that you can social distance.

Weddings we have attended with dancing were all on concrete floors and no one had any difficulty dancing.

I think some of the reason why people opt for the dance floor is because it allows for a specific focal point but if your venue doesn't require it, i think it's ok to leave it as is!!

i had to use dance floor since my venue was carpet

It's very small. Vs the big open space.
