Custom wedding postage stamps

M, on April 5, 2017 at 9:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 24

Hi all,

I'm looking into custom postage stamps for my save the dates as well as my wedding invitations. I'm wondering where you ended up purchasing your stamps and what the overall quality and your satisfaction of the stamps were. Any advice would be appreciated!

TIA!

Honestly? This is not where I'd spend money. Go to the United States Postal Service website and you can buy some really pretty stamps, but really people will barely look at them and they have some really pretty ones.

I just bought regular ones and not one person said anything about it.

I recently bought the airplane spelling out love for my save the dates from the post office. they are forever ones too so they can always be used for other things in the future.

@greeks I just used the same ones! They were not as expensive as people made it seem like they would be.

    I would skip customized ones.

OP asked where she can get customized stamps. I feel like posters are being too critical. You can get customized stamps on zazzle.

Actually Tammy, the OP specifically said "any advice would be appreciated".

My advice is to skip the overpriced custom stamps that no one will even notice to put that money towards something that actually affects the guest experience.

I am all about the details and love custom stamps for my invitation suite. I am using zazzle and have been very happy with the quality and choices.

I used the blue "love" ones that PP mentioned. I thought about doing personalized ones but they seemed like a waste of money. If you really do want to do it though, I think shutterfly offers them! Everything I've ever gotten from shutterfly has been excellent quality

The wedding invites we just got in the mail for a friends wedding had custom stamps. The only reason I noticed them was on the rsvp envelope that took up so much room it cut off the grooms name in the address. I don't even remember what it was, just that it was huge.

Post office has great choices that look custom or at least upscale.

I love the blue Airplane stamps that say love... but I am having my reception at an airplane museum... so people thought they were custom..

@op... I have done custom stamps before and no one realized I had them.. I forgot where I got them but they were ok... but really not worth the fuss I put into them.

Thanks everyone for all of your opinions! We are having 22 guests at our wedding so when looking into this it was all about the details since we are having such a small wedding but, when I was reading your opinions and what some of you have done I feel like it's not a must need for a truly custom stamp. I do however, want something that fits my elegant "fairy tale" theme so hopefully my local post office will have something that can tie into it! Smiley smile

    Thanks again!

As with PP, I also have started buying the love airplane ones to stock up. I think they are the same price as regular stamps

I got mine at the post office. They had swirly heart ones. No one will look twice at your stamp and they'll be covered from the post office sending them anyways

I think the USPS "LOVE" stamps are plenty fine and plenty wedding without paying extra.

I got the swirly heart ones and the botanical ones from usps. I ordered them online since the post office never seems to have that many. The Oscar de la Renta ones are really nice too. Plenty of options without spending extra $$$.

I'd save the money and invest it elsewhere in the wedding

The swirly heart ones are beautiful and the ODLR ones are just gorgeous! If you're going casual, they have vintage pick up trucks and ice cream parlor treats. The planet ones are gorgeous, but I don't know if you can still order them.

And I forgot about the plane ones; they're so cool!
