Custom items- what are you doing

Billie, on March 31, 2020 at 12:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Sorry if this has already been asked. What are you ladies doing about any custom items with dates on them if the wedding is postponed. My wedding is 5/1/20. Our honey moon has already been cancelled. Our Venue has given us until 4/20 to make a final decision (unless one gets made for us). Social Distancing in now in effect until the day before but we are hanging on as long as we can. I assume it will be postponed. The venue gave us 1 date in June, July and August to choose from and has penciled us in until we make a final decision. I purchased, bar napkins, Champagne Glasses, Sand Ceremony items, and gifts all with our date on them. As most people do. I can not afford to do it all again if it gets postponed. What are you all doing? I had the thought of trying to get married just the 2 of us anyway, and have the actual wedding with guests at the later date so at least the date is still kind of meaningful. Even though that is not ideal. But even that at this point is iffy. Even my town hall is closed and only offering email or phone calls. Ugh, Jut venting I guess. At a loss. As we all are.

We don’t have anything with our wedding date on it besides the save-the-dates that were mailed. Personally, I would just use your dated items and not waste money. Plus, guests understand what happened.

We had to postpone from April to July. We are keeping all of our cocktail napkins, and flutes, and things with our April date on it for the July wedding. So far only changing the photo booth photos with the new date stamp on it. Because at this point both of those dates will have meaning to us. Plus, guests will totally understand and you'll have a story to tell!

We are using everything that had the original date on it if we postpone to another date. Ours is just the guest book and a sign thing that have the original date on it.

We bought so much with April 25 2020; vow books, picture frames, gifts for other people, favors, signs, etc. We are not planning on reordering most of it. Honestly, to us it doesn't matter what that piece of paper says April 25 2020 is our wedding date.
