Covid wedding

Jessica, on July 13, 2020 at 9:02 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19
So idk about everyone else, but covid got the best of us. Our original wedding datewas May 31 2020. I was very positive and optimistic. It crashed me . Now we are shooting for sept 26,2020, but I find I'm more preparing for the worst.

Is anyone else feeling like this?

I’ve had a few friends who are in the same situation and they feel the same exact way. My wedding isn’t until March so right now I have a little more hope but who knows what will happen. I think it’s normal to feel that way as n knows what will happen with COVID. Try to stay positive Smiley heart

I’ve seen a few others on here in your same situation who only postponed a few months from their original date. That’s really tough to face a second time and hopefully you’ll be able to move forward with your plans. W e postponed our October wedding to October 2021, in hopes that there would be improvements by then. But, although it feels far.... sometimes it doesn’t feel far enough when it comes to COVID.

Same. We were actually supposed to be May 30th, rescheduled to November 7th, but I’m not feeling confident

We are rescheduled from 05/02/20 to 10/03/20. Since we are under 35 guests, we can still do it but it with all the restrictions, it wouldn’t be as fun for all the money we put into it. So probably going to hold the event with us and our parents. It’s going to sad, but I’m ready for this done.

My wedding was supposed to be April 25, 2020. We postponed to July 18th, 2020. Due to current restrictions in my area, we were forced to cancel the large wedding and reception. Instead, we will be having a small ceremony with 35 guests in my parent's backyard and then taking our guests to a local restaurant that we were able to reserve. We will have the whole place to ourselves. We are planning on having a more traditional reception and vow renewal sometime next summer.

I'm so sorry you're going through this again Jessica! Smiley heart But you're definitely not alone!

Are there any modifications you'd be willing to make to still have your wedding in September? Like downsizing your guest list or implementing social distancing measures?

My guest list us only 67 not big, I'm really hoping postponing again isnt an option. If it is I mean I just feel defeated. I understand this is out of anyone's control but a girl dreams of her wedding day for most of her life, and it just doesn't seem possible to have that dream happen. So as far as if I have to postpone again then I'm sure I'll do something small, but at the same time idk.

Same here. Our original date was may 23rd with 120 guests. The venue was willing to let us reschedule free of charge within one year but we are moving across country at the end of September so we lost out on a couple grand in deposits. now its looking like it will be a small backyard wedding of 30 guests or less. Was crushed at first but now just happy to almost be his wife. And the amount of money we will save is outstanding! Try not to get discouraged and do what is best for you two. You guys will have your special day Smiley smile

We just postponed our 9/5/20 wedding. We’re having trouble finding a new date next year that works for all of our vendors. It’s a headache. I hope everything works out for you!

Ours is September 26th too, which is what we originally scheduled ours for. We’re absolutely heart broken😔 at this point, we’re going to keep it very small because of so many unknowns still. What are you guys planning to do?

We had a small wedding orginally. 67 guest's! But we did switch the small room to the ballroom, allowing more than enough space
