We’re supposed to get married August 10, 2020 and it’s a destination wedding in Hawaii. I just contacted our coordinator again and waiting to hear back. We might have to postpone because currently Hawai’i’s still under lockdown until May 31 and have a mandatory 14 day quarantine. Our state (WA) also has a May 31 stay at home order but our governor is slowly lifting restrictions. There’s so much uncertainty right now and I’m worried. Praying it will work out but will be connecting with our vendors and coordinator to make a backup plan/plan B. Postponing!

Our date is August 6th. Things are starting to open up here too, and I don’t want to discourage you, but we are leaning towards postponing because restrictions will be up and down through the whole year maybe longer. We’re thinking if we have the wedding this year there are a ton of things that could go wrong. The venue could cancel last minute or cut our numbers. Restrictions could require guests to wear masks. Our venue said it’s possible we’ll have to coordinate with the DJ to make an announcement if the dance floor gets to crowded. Our family may still feel uncomfortable hugging. All that is enough for me to maybe make it worthwhile to wait for the wedding we wanted. The uncertainties are way to stressful for me!

Oh wow sorry you will have to experience that. We are opened up here like restaurants, hair salons, people are going back to jobs. Postponing is definitely not an option as we are ready to get this over with and our venue opens back up next week so we are good to go. The virus won’t survive too much longer in the heat and my pop back up when it starts to get cold again and for FL that isn’t until January honestly.

We are in KY and still on lockdown, but we just moved our date to August 1 and are pretty sure it will be fine.
We decided we’re getting married then wether we can have 10 people, 50 people, or 100 people! I am so over the stress and because it’s all so unpredictable, I say just go for your date.

My daughter's wedding was moved from June to August 1st, here in CA. It's an outdoor wedding/reception and so we're hoping 50 ppl will be allowed. If not, she will have a smaller ceremony at home. She does not want to postpone to a 3rd date and is just ready to be married.

We are supposed to get married August 1st as well. We live in Michigan. Still planning for it to happen, but I can’t help but feel the need to just postpone it until next year. My mom keeps telling me it’ll be fine, but I’m not so sure.

Oh wow! I definitely think you'll be fine then! We're in Tallahasse. At least you're not in South Florida. If you were , I'd probably say maybe wait. And since you already paid, I'd say go for it. How many guests do you all plan on having? We just cut our list.

Ohhh okay I can see why you're nervous! What has your venue said about that many people? Are they okay with it? If so, then you should be ok!

I'm in Chicago and my date was Aug8th. We plan to start opening up again as early as June, but no guarantee. By the time August hits, we may be better but there would be the 50 people restriction. So I postponed mine to next year because I didn't want to have a small event and a large one later.

Hi Penny! We are August 1st in Virginia and we are still planning to go forward. Our venue said that if the Virginia order is extended to July, then we can work on a plan b but we’ll have some fees. The venue is large so they’re working with us on social distancing with tables and serving of the food. I hope we can still have the wedding! Our tasting will be next week!

    Hi,

We aren't having our wedding in August, but set for July 17th in St. Pete Florida!! We live a little more south, but wanted to have the wedding in St. Pete. Our venue is a dinner yacht so I was a little nervous at first, not a whole lot of room to spread people out, but my venue has been great about responding to all my crazy bride questions. They just opened back up last Friday at 25% capacity since I guess technically they are a restaurant. She is confident we will be ok for July. We are probably only going to have max. 50 people at this point, so that makes me feel better. Only thing that worries me more now, is 100% of our guests are coming from out of state. We are the only ones that live in FL. We will have my family coming from Indiana and his from California and Virginia. So fingers crossed nonessential travel can be allowed for those states. I know CA is strict as is VA so I need things to get a little better so they can travel and we can go on as planned for the wedding. I am thankful the guests that were already booked to fly, still feel comfortable to travel as long as they are allowed. I will be missing my grandmother which was planning on staying behind even before COVID-19 due to some recent health changes and my grandfather who does live in FL half the year isn't comfortable, but I can maybe just visit him after and see him once things get even better!

It sounds like you will be fine as well! Just praying if and when the second wave hits are weddings have taken place. Either way, I feel and pray for everyone dealing with postponing or even cancelling their weddings. This is supposed to be such a special time and I feel like all I do is stress over something I have no control over! Good luck and I hope to see you wedding pics come Aug!

My wedding is at the end of August and I am anxious to postpone. Although Maryland officially is in Phase I, several of the counties within the state are not moving forward. My venue is in a county that is remaining closed down due to the rise of cases. Therefore with 200 people invited, an August wedding just isn't going to happen. Despite having room in hospitals, cases are still going up so I'd also like to ensure the safety of all my guests. I want my day to be perfect and having social distancing and masks just isn't for me, I'd also spend too much time worrying about my friends and family and their safety. My venue cancelled all weddings through July 1st. I am trying to get in touch with them now to see when I will be able to cancel/postpone.
