Covid-19 cancels weddings

CANSEN, on March 18, 2020 at 12:29 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

Our wedding is on July 11,2020 and all of our vendors are booked already. I was about to send the wedding invitations, but I decided to wait a little bit more to see if we will need to postpone our wedding. I'm super stressed about a possible cancelling. Anyone who is cancelling their July wedding?

Hi! My wedding date is July 26th in Greece and we haven’t cancelled. We’re trying to stay positive and said we’d make a decision in mid-May.... hoping for the best for everyone on here!

I'm also July 11 and we are waiting to see what happens. Our venue did announce they are cancelling all events in the next 8 weeks that were booked with 50 or more attendees. We're hopeful this will be contained by then. 🤞

Hi Cansen! It's a stressful and uncertain time, and you're definitely not the only one feeling this way! Smiley heart Thankfully you have a longer timeline to work with, so I'd advise sitting tight for now.

We've gathered initial tips and resources from WeddingWire here: COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and I've seen several other July brides talking here: July 2020 Weddings!

Same date, and we're holding off on ordering invitations. My side of the family skews older, and FH's living grandparents/my great aunt are in their 90s, so we don't wany to put them at risk.

We sent STD cards out a while ago, so we're comfortable holding out another 8 weeks before spending more money on something that may or may not happen. For now, our vendors are still moving forward. We're cautiously optimistic for now.

Knowing that I’m not alone in this situation makes me a little bit better. We also sent save the dates long time ago, and still didn’t order the invitations. My fiancé and I don’t want to put more effort and money into the wedding before making sure. Even though I try to keep my hopes high, it still gives a stomachache
