I've been married nearly 3 years now (our anniversary is November 25th). I can't even believe it's been that long; time really does fly when you're spending it with the love of your life... Smiley heart

I'm wondering, for those that are already married, what was your favorite part of your wedding day?

What was your favorite detail/ accessory or aspect of your wedding?

What was the best decision you made in regards to the big day and planning?

And what might you have changed if you could do it all over again?

Where did you honeymoon? I am a travel bug always looking to plan my next vacay so I love new ideas!

I love all things wedding and hearing about them so tell me about your day!

Although not everything went according to plan or entirely the way I envisioned, we had a beautiful day and I feel blessed we were able to have all that we did! I had a lot of personal touches at my wedding and I'm so glad my guests noticed and appreciated them. We had signature drinks, a photo booth, a caricature artist, custom champagne flutes, and released wishing lanterns. Aside from my first dance, those are some of my favorite things Smiley love Smiley cake We absolutely loved how our cake turned out (and how it tasted) too!

I loved our card box! thank you Etsy. And our caricature artist was so fun!

I would hire a different photographer as I was not happy with ours. And I would have also gotten married in a church instead of outside. But we loved our videographer! He was amazing!!! And we're so glad we hired him. We were in love with our venue too. It was so beautiful! The jeweler where we got our rings is amazing and we love him. He's been such a pleasure to work with! I'm so glad we chose that place.

We went on a 10 day Caribbean cruise with Princess cruises. It was so elegant and amazing! We went to Antigua, Barbados, Bahamas, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Thomas and St. Lucia. If time and money permitted, we may have gone for 2 weeks somewhere farther away. But we were very happy on our cruise.

Congrats on 3 years! I just started my married life on October 5th of this year. Smiley smile

Sooo -- to answer your questions!

    - The first look and going to the zoo to get pictures. Also, everyone's expression when we played Gloria with the Goal Horns (we're from STL, go Blues) after we were announced Mr & Mrs. Lol.

    - I loved how my fiance had set up the venue. He got there at like 10am to put up lights and the archway, it turned out amazingly! I didn't even see anything until ceremony.

    - Plan out everything with the photographer, it made everything so smooth. If you wanna go places for pictures before the wedding/after the wedding, have a route and a plan.

    - COMFY SHOES. Holy heck my feet were bleeding and bruised by the nights end. Also, I probably would have just told my MoH to give up on busseling my dress instead of letting her convince me she could do it, she couldn't do it right anyway and it took an hour away from my wedding reception. I could never get that hour back. I'm still kinda frustrated about it, because I could have made it work walking around with the length of the dress -- it just would've been a bit of a hassle (but still was cause it wasn't even busseled up correctly)

    - Went to Disney 10/07/19-10/13/19 and Universal 10/13/19-10/18/19. Wish I wouldn't have invited MoH (she made it about her and it really bummed us), but we had invited a groomsmen that came from Sweden and he was a delight to have on our HM.

Honestly, I was a bit bummed that a lot of people left around 8:30pm (I had like 115-ish guests). I had a 5:45 ceremony, 6:30 dinner and then my reception wasn't over until 11pm. I'd say 65% of my people had left by 9pm and my MoH had me cornered to get busseled for an hour and it was rather frustrating. So, when I came back, the whole place seemed super empty. I think that was the biggest let down feeling because there were still 2 hours that we paid for and most people didn't have kids and it was a Saturday w/ open bar -- so we were pretty confused at the early leavers.

It wasn't completely what I expected but it was a lovely day, nonetheless. A lot could have gone wrong and it didn't... and whatever did go wrong was small enough that it wasn't something that put a damper on the day as much as annoyed us later on.

Omg! I love everything about your wedding. The venue, the decor (especially the head table and nod to military), your bridal look! I’m not a fan of tiaras. Or necklaces. But your whole look is like royalty. You totally rock it. 👸 ❤️

I'd love to see photos if you have any, especially of the ceremony space!! Bustles can be so tricky and I'm so sorry it took so long and you MOH insisted. I don't think mine was done quite right, but it certainly didn't take long to put up. I think no matter what, guests would have left early. I personally don't understand it either because I'm one to stay until the very end! Thank you open bar and a good time, haha. Glad you had a good day aside form the bustle. And your honeymoon sounds so fun!! It's sweet that you invited people but i can see how that would be frustrating. Did you and your husband have any alone time or dinner just the two of you or anything? Congratulations!

Girl thank you so much!!! It's all about personality and if it fits yours. Honestly I didn't love my dress, it's not the one I really wanted. But I let my mother-in-law's opinion cloud my mind. This one was pretty it just didn't fit me right (was too loose in the bust area). But thank youuuu!!!! You wedding sounds so creative (I checked out your profile, I was so intrigued with the name). Do you have any photos?!

Thank you so much Cliodhna! We aren't planning anything special as of yet. But I'm sure we'll do something. I'm already thinking of gifts (I like to stick with tradition each year- this year is the year for leather). I think maybe massages and dinner would be a nice way to celebrate! The place we got married is under new ownership as of a few months after we got married. Now every year they do a drive through light show!!! They have all kinds of different lights set up throughout the golf course and there's a path to drive through it. We like to go to that just to be back at the place where we got married.

Really?! It's spectacular on you!!! You look like royalty--from the dress to jewelry, hair and makeup. That bridal bouquet is amazing too. Love your look. So much.

lol. We had a DW with a pirate reception in a wine cave, then a local reception back home with a swanky 50/60's vibe. I'm a brand marketer and my hubby is a show producer so both of us wanted fun themed events. Would love to show some pics:

Aw, thank you so much! We still get giddy when we look at our photos. We loved creating wedding events that were totally us. I’ve never even seen a wine cave until we started venue shopping (neither had our guests) and it added so much to our pirate theme. 🏴‍☠️
