I was just on another discussion board and see people are spending $ 500 -$700 for a DJ. Where are you located?? The cheapest I found is $1500 for 5 hours.

I'm paying a fried $100. He's not a DJ so I have to rent equipment but he's a good hype man and I'll have a lot prepared for him. It's more work on my part but it's worth saving $600

Ours is $100/hr, so $300 for our reception! It’s her side job so she’s not very responsive and all she will be doing is music and announcements, but so far she’s great! We’re in Pittsburgh.

Paying $1000 for our DJ for our reception. It’s 2 people and they also have a third person to take pictures so we’ll have everything from our photographer and then some extras. But it’s also a family run business so the pricing is a bit different.

I’m in N.H. and just booked one for $1100. There were less expensive out there but I went by reviews. Needed a good DJ to keep the party going!

I’m in Louisiana and I priced lots of DJs.. the cheapest I found was $750 for 4 hours. I ended up booking my DJ this week for $400 but his wife is a close friend and she is also doing our photography. Usually he charges around $850 for a 4 hour reception.

My wedding hasn’t happened yet. But a number of friends of mine and my brother both used the same company and their weddings were fantastic. The DJ definitely makes or breaks the wedding. We didn’t skimp, we just got an amazing deal (i should mention a friend of mines husband is a dj for the same company and i referred my brother there so a great deal was coming to me when i got married haha) Like I said this is the company and the DJ i wanted so I’m pretty confident it will be awesome!

I’m getting married in Rome, Georgia, a small town in the north of the state. Our DJ is $475. He said he leaves when the last guest leaves. He is legit, has a great reputation and we have a contract. I live in Atlanta and we were originally were planning to get married there. DJs in the city start at $1200-$1500 minimum.
