Corset vs Zipper

I am thinking about changing my zippered dress to a corset because the corset dresses I tried gave my shape some definition. However, corset is not forgiving to back fat IMO. What is your preference and why?

I prefer corset by a long slide. I'm actually just picked my dress yesterday and it's originally a zip and it's getting custom made to a corset. I think the charge for the corset was $175, but I'd have to look because like I said I'm getting it custom made with some other changes. I'm a plus size and I feel amazing in a corset. It gives me so much shape, and if it fits right, it shouldn't be accentuating your back fat (trust me I got plenty). Get the fabric under it and it is very appealing.

I do agree that a corset back definitely NEEDS the modesty panel. I HATE seeing a bridal gown being worn without the panel, it always looks unfinished.

I found corsets to be more forgiving on my back. You can lace them tightly where you need and looser where you don't.

If you find the right help when getting dressed, there are ways to eliminate the roll or the back cleavage I feared. The coordinator that came in to help lace me up knew a trick or two. First, I needed to pull the back of long-line bra up higher. It was too low and pushing everything up in the back. Second, once laced in, she had me put my arms straight out in front of me (think Frankenstein) and she tucked all the way around the back. When I dropped my arms there was no spillage or cleavage anywhere. Mine came with a corseted back, and it was one of the things I loved about it.
