Coronavirus Alternate Wedding Plans

Dynesha, on March 28, 2020 at 3:52 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 3
June 2020 Bride here. I’ve been having waves of panic about the wedding, usually triggered by insensitive comments from the FH. I’ve been brainstorming a couple ideas about our options. I would love some feedback from brides-to-be that can sympathize!
(1) Keep the date and plan the same. We only have a guest list of 60 so whoever shows up, shows up. Hopefully get at least 30 in attendance.
(2) Postpone. None of my vendors have reached out or offered alternative dates. I work in Schools, which are back in session in July, so any date after that would seriously stress me tf out.(3) Courthouse nuptials on the original date, celebration later. My only issue with this is when the celebration would happen and I’d run into the same issues for postponing the celebration.(4) Live-stream the ceremony, have a reception later. My FH suggested that we decorate our living room with the wedding decor, have our parents and siblings in attendance, live-stream the ceremony, and have a ceremony and reception later this year to include everyone we invited. (IMO the live-stream idea seems tacky.)(5) SUGGESTIONS?!

You all seem to have it lot of thought based on what I read.
Next step would be to brainstorm with your venue
And of course seeing if all your vendors available if you go with a new date That will help you make a sound decision

Hi Dynesha! I'm so sorry your plans are in limbo, that's a stressful situation to be in. I think you're smart to start thinking about backup plans just in case. Is one of those options sounding better/easier to you right now? 1 is obviously the best case scenario, this week I've been seeing some really nice posts of couples who have gone with your option 4, and we're of course seeing lots of people contacting their vendors to work out whether option 2 is feasible.
