Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We're getting married Sept 19 and thinking about just going to the courthouse on that day to get legally married and then have the ceremony and reception at a later date. Hopefully if this goes away by June/July, we can still do this. It's a bummer but it's for the health and safety of our families.

@Jamie - David's Bridal has a pretty extensive collection and they have free returns (and I have been assured that there is no limit on the number of dresses you can return).

Most of their gowns are located in US warehouses (not overseas); for me, they have shipped each time within 3 days of my order. (I am in Pennsylvania).

Their customer service is also pretty great - I think it's worth a shot.

My wedding is being postponed. We have ALOT of international guests (my fiance is from ireland) I'm super super upset though. Not about postponing but my venue (or what was to be our venue) is not allowing us to move the date to 2021. They said we can pick an available Friday in October. So basically, either completely change my day of week AND the season which I marry (we were supposed to be married early june) or f#(# us and they are keeping our 2k. So now not only do we have to deal with contacting all our vendors to move to our new date, but before we can give them the new date we have to now find a new venue! :,( I'm so upset that they are being like this, covid is already making everything so hard and crazy and now they are making it worse for us.

Ours was supposed to be yesterday 4/4/20, we have canceled and are just waiting for things to open back up. We got a full refund and will just go to a local park of some sort.

My wedding is July 18, too! Knowing you moved it to July and not any later gives me hope that I won’t have to move mine. Good luck to you!

Ours was supposed to be on Tuesday, we haven’t made new plans because of all the uncertainty. As much as the first cancellation hurt, I’m not ready to set myself up to potentially cancel again. Love to all you girls going through this as well.

Our wedding was scheduled for May 2, 2020 in the Outer Banks. As they are closed and we can't get there until at minimum May 1, 2020, we have moved our date to September 25, 2020. Ours has been a bit of an ordeal, as we had to find an entirely new venue due to them double-booking our confirmed re-schedule date. We have to wait 2 months for our refund on our rental house for the week, and choose another of those due to the previous selection not being available for our new week. We lost a groomsman who has a previously scheduled trip on our new date, but as everyone else was available, and we don't want our vendors to lose more revenue than they have due to Covid-19, we are sticking with the new date. I remain stress-free because others have it much worse. I hope that everyone is hanging in there!

We canceled our May 2, 2020 wedding/reception and hope to have a courthouse wedding when they open back up. We will probably just invite friends and family over for a bbq to celebrate this summer or fall when/if things calm down by then. It's disappointing after having this beautiful idea of what things were going to be like to see it all gone. We were able to get most of our deposits back so we can hopefully put that money towards other things down the road. Good luck to all of you!

Yes hoping we can both keep our date! A backup date is a good idea. I reached out to my day of coordinator from our venue and she said they currently aren’t cancelling or postponing any June or July weddings, so that’s a good thing I’m hoping. Crossing my fingers that things get better!!

Just out of curiousity, why are people canceling completely? If you have paid so much money, are the vendors/venue not working with you to keep your business?

We are holding strong for our June 28th wedding. Praying for everybody impacted by this horrible pandemic. My heart goes out to all of you immediately and initially impacted. I'm so very sorry that you are going through this.

Our wedding was set for July 17, 2020, however, we made the difficult decision today to postpone to June 26, 2021. We felt that any pre-wedding celebrations would be cancelled or not as enjoyable with everything going on even if we were able to squeeze by with our July wedding. Good luck to everyone going through this! At the end of the day, our health is much more important than a wedding right now.

    Hi,

Although this is not my case, I know friends of mine had to postpone their wedding for 2021. Now, if I were in your shoes, I would have definitely done the same thing you did.
    Good luck!

We were 04/20/20. Completely heartbroken. We just cancelled. Things are some broad regarding what to expect next. We just don’t have the capacity at the moment.
