Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We have decided to postpone our May 15th wedding do to the uncertainties going on with COVID-19. We still don't have a date yet, fiance had his heart set on getting married on our anniversary but it's looking like that won't be an option unless we postpone a whole year. I think we are just going to end up eloping once public offices open back up and then having a reception later on.

We are supposed to be getting married late August and we still will if the court houses are reopened and there is not another wave. We have our fingers crossed. We will end up having a small ceremony if needed however hope to have our family and friends there. It is a little nerve racking. I hope everyone can have their wedding or at least be able to marry there amazing other half at some point this year. Good way to look at it is if we all survive this together we have great matches!

Totally understandable. We planned our wedding 16 months ago, so I couldn’t even imagine planning it in half that time! I think it’s a smart call, plus you’ll get to enjoy engaged life for a little longer.

Our wedding was scheduled for April 19, but we decided to postpone until April 18, 2021. Hopefully things start to improve by Summer so we can all enjoy our weddings.

I’m very nervous about my wedding date in November but I’m not planning on postponing. I’m hoping to see some normalcy around June as well. My bridal shower is another thing. I wanted it in May or June but I knew in February that wasn’t going to happen. I’m having a spring themed high tea, that kinda doesn’t work in August summer heat, Or worse, September. However, there’s Christmas is July so I can bring spring to fall, right? Lol. Good luck with everything going forward. I’m glad your guest are able to make your new date

I’m a May 16th wedding. We haven’t officially cancelled or postponed yet but have narrowed down our ten people so I’m sure we’ll be letting our guests know soon.. I’m absolutely heartbroken....

My wedding was supposed to take place on 3/28/2020... I made all of my final payments on 3/14/2020, and all of my vendors told me we were a-okay to proceed, and while some of our older guests had notified us that they were not going to attend, the majority of our guest list was full steam ahead.... then the Governor of CA issued a statewide stay home order. Two days later my venue called me and let me know we were cancelled Smiley sad After planning for 16 months and being within days of our event, this was devastating news. Thankfully all of our vendors were very understanding and have moved all of those fully paid services to our new date, 3/27/2021. We still got married on 3/28/2020 with 10 guests (our three kids, my parents, and his sister, brother in law, and niece.) The small intimate ceremony was lovely and I am thrilled to be married to my best friend and the love of my life, but it was a huge blow to have something I worked so hard on and spent so much time over the last 16 months just not happen. I think we will have a hell of an anniversary celebration next year though. I really hope life is back to normal by then.

Firstly, I’m so sorry for all the couples who are affected by this virus and thinking of rescheduling! My heart aches for us all and I hope everyone stays safe and healthy! We are all in this together and we will get through this pandemic. 🙏🏻💪🏻 Secondly, I am a current Bride and my fiancé and I were supposed to be getting married June 20, 2020 and have been planning our wedding since summer of 2018. We decided to reschedule our wedding date to November 7, 2020. We know this was the best decision based on the safety and health of our loved ones near and far. We have too many guests traveling from all over mostly by plane and we were contemplating for weeks on what to do, but since our wedding is larger and pretty much a destination wedding for the majority of our guests we thought this was the best decision. On the bright side, we are still getting married this year! We are going to make both dates special to us! Again, I’m sorry we are going through this, but I’m here if you need to vent about it because I did and I feel at peace with our decision. I pray you feel at peace with whichever decision you make! ❤️

My date is July 18 as well! I wouldn’t worry about the dress there’s a lot of places you can get dresses when stores re-open and I bet seamstresses will be willing to work overtime for rushed brides because of all the money they’re losing now. Have you Fries’s BHLDN? I’ve heard there’s less alterations with those dresses and you can order online and free returns!

Our date is July 18 and I don’t think I’m going to make a decision on if we need to move it until the end of April. I was planning to order invitations this month but may hold until mid May depending upon what happens in the next few weeks. We sent save the dates so luckily most everyone at least has our date hanging on their fridge, so if our lead time is a little shorter for actual invitations hopefully it won’t make a huge difference.

We are 7/11/2020 in Bermuda and today before sending our invites out made the decision to postpone until 6/12/2021. We are from DC and both our parents are immune compromised and think it’s not worth the stress of having a destination wedding during all of this when it’s suppose to be a fun vacation! We’ve been together for 8 yrs and pretty much married already so what’s another year?.. All my love to everyone during this time! It sucks.
