#Coronabrides #june Postponing or continuing to plan?

Quincy, on April 27, 2020 at 2:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4

Hello all!

My fiance and I live in Montana and planned our wedding for June 13th. I'm curious what everyone is doing with their June weddings? With haying and rodeo season in full swing during the summer, June is really the only month we are able to have a wedding. (which is why we planned it the way we did). With Montana being one of the 1st states to start opening back up I'm not sure what to do. We didn't send out save the dates and I have not sent invites out yet..

    Hi Quincy,

I'm sorry you have to think about postponing your wedding. It's a tough spot right now because there are so many unknowns. Unfortunately, I don't know anything specific to Montana. It's helpful that no one has to travel from outside the state, though. Are the hotels where your guests would be staying open for business?

Have you contacted your venue? It could be comforting to discuss a plan B in the near future. Also, you are not alone. Here are three other discussions with June brides, including one thread with the same date:

Fellow Montana bride here! We were going to have a May 15, 120 person wedding which we canceled. Although we are lifting restrictions, it's not looking good for large gatherings this summer. Social distancing guidelines will likely still be in place. I will say that once we made the decision to cancel, I felt way less stressed. I bawled my eyes out for one day, then was able to look at the positives and move forward without the weight of that decision hanging over me. We are now eloping in September and hoping to do a reception on October 31. Wishing you the best! At least we're riding this out in the most beautiful state, right??
