I am spending the next year growing my strawberry blonde hair as long as I can get it for the big day. After the honeymoon, I plan to chop it short. I've always had long hair and my FH was not thrilled when I mentioned this but I feel like it will be freeing after the stress of wedding planning.

My photographer said they often don't recognize the brides when they come in for the pictures after the wedding because so many cut their hair short.

Is anyone else doing this?

My hair grows really quick and i constantly let it grow then chop it all off. I am resisting the temptation to cut it now, although I might get a trim. After the wedding, it is all coming off and will probably be super short again

I was JUST talking about this last night! I noticed how long my hair was getting, and my FH said he really liked it...I then proceeded to tell him I was planning on cutting it shorter after the wedding, and he likes it a little shorter too. I need one more trim befroe the wedding, but don't want it to get whacked off on accident! I am nervous!

Lol the wife chop i like it.... i agree with NAB though. im keeping my long hair for now. ive always had it long, and i dont think i have the face to wear it short. i get anxiety just thinking about it. im considering getting bangs though... i have short pieces right now that are almost like long bangs, and i really like it. but after the wedding i do plan on getting a tattoo.

But i think i like the mommy chop! ive always wanted to get it cut so its short on one side and long on the other, but i think it makes women look a little more mature. not older, just mature. so i plan on doing that when babies start popin out!

I've been growing mine out since I got horrible layers cut into it but I am planning on cutting it up to a little below my shoulders before we go on our honeymoon so that it will be less high maintenance! I just got it trimmed because I had so many split ends because I was afraid to get it cut, too! It's not that getting it trimmed makes it grow faster, its that the longer you keep the split ends the higher up your hair they will go and your hair won't be as healthy. So to get rid of the unhealthy stuff you would have to chop more of it off at one time. That's why I had to get 2 inches which doesnt sound like much but I can sure feel it!

It's true, getting trims will not make your hair grow faster but it will make it healthier. My hair looks awful when it's long and I don't get trims so I go every six weeks to keep my ends healthy.

I also color my hair all the time but I am not coloring it until September when I'm getting highlights for my friend's wedding and then maintaining the highlights until my wedding.

This is more work than I have ever put into my hair! LOL!

Not totally and completely sure of what I am doing yet. I am growing my hair out right now. Just got a little taken off the other day to make it healthy looking. But I might get a little cut off afterwards but not sure. I kind of like my hair a little longer.

I'm growing my hair, too. I don't want to be at the beach without being able to pull it in a ponytail. But I CANNOT WAIT to chop it off after the wedding! Just to a little bit above my shoulders.

I've been growing my hair out and am very much looking forward to cutting it after the wedding. I did not know this was such a popular idea with Brides!
