Chinese wedding planner in Phiadelphia

Hi,

I am also a Chinese bride trying to plan a wedding. How did your wedding turn out? I would appreciate any tips you have for me or any recommendations for studios/engagement photoshoots in Philly. I'd also appreciate any advice on qipao or wedding dresses (white or chinese style) .

Hi Anna,

My wedding was everything I dreamed and more. I didn't get to do everything that I wanted but it was still the best day of my life. One thing I would not recommend was my photographer. She did a great job but some things happened that would make me not recommend her to another bride, as this is such an important time of our lives and pictures so important. I did get two dresses. One more "traditional" american style but it was also had red in it. I ordered it online from AliExpress. I paid around $139 with free shipping. They made it customer for me and it came and fit PERFECTLY. It was everything I wanted.

First wedding dress

The second wedding dress I ordered from Modernqipao.com. I sent them the measurements just like i did on Aliexpress. When it came it fit horribly and cried and thought about not wearing it at all. I ended up taking it to a chinese tailor that made my husband's custom suits and they fixed it perfectly in less than 7 days so that I had it in time for my wedding.

Second Wedding Dress

I hope these pictures help. Please let me know if there is anything else you want suggestions on. I had a sedan chair bring me in for my ceremony and a traditional Chinese style reception at Lai Lai Garden in Blue Bell, PA. I would recommend them highly if you haven't already found a location. Anything else you want to know I would be happy to share.

Omgsh, both your dresses are so beautiful! Thank you for the wonderful tips Amorette. How long did it take for your dresses to ship to you? Did you have a tea ceremony or combing hair ceremony? I am wondering where to obtain items for either ceremony.

Hi! It took less than 30 days for each dress from when I placed the order to my doorstep. I thought it would take longer so I ordered the first one wayyyy in advance. The second one came with less than a month before the wedding with is what made me panicked. I didn't do a tea ceremony at the last minute but where I had my wedding at Lai Lai Garden was able to accomodate that if we needed it. Did you know exactly what you were looking for? I spent time on weekends going through shops in Chinatown for wedding details. Other things I ordered from overseas. Let me know if i can help you find anything.
