Nope. We'd never use them. We did register for a nicer set of everyday dishes though, we picked something plain and classic that wouldn't look out of place at a nice dinner.

Nope, I'm the clumsiest person alive. I know I'd break it all. Plus, I don't anticipate ever having a need for it. I've never seen anyone that owns china actually use it.

We're not. It's not our style and it seems like an unnecessary waste of money to have China that's going to sit around most of the time. We did, however, register for new dinner plates to use regularly because ours need updated.

We registered for everyday bone china. It is simple that we can dress up the table when we host dinners but still usable everyday. Royal Doultan 1812 is the pattern

We did - registered for a new set of everyday dishes and then a set of more fine china. Once my mother gets too old to host holiday dinners, it'll become my turn to do so (family tradition, hosting is handed to the oldest daughter) and I know I'll use the fine china for that.

I did, because I love entertaining. Granted, I'm the person who registered for three different sets of dishes: formal china, everyday, and something in between for more casual get togethers, and i'm looking forward to getting it all!

I will get the Haviland my mother got for a steal at an estate sale years ago so will not be registering for China. However, I would like silver and crystal sets to go with it but am not sure if that looks odd to register for alone.

I registered for china and crystal, and I got it, and I never used it (well, I do use the crystal now....) I don't know, I must have thought we'd have a totally different lifestyle after we got married, lol....

We skipped the formal china, but went for upgrades to our everyday dining stuff. We are not the couple to ever host a formal dinner party, so it would have stayed in the boxes on the top shelf of the closet, no point in that for us. We are just very casual, so registered for upgrades to our Corelle (they have gotten pretty in recent years, thank goodness), serving bowls/plates, that kind of thing.

We did and I love it. We use it every time we have guests over. However, we hosted over 200 guests, so we registered for a lot of items.

If we had a smaller wedding, like my sister did, we might not have registered for china. Our grandmother gave sister her good china, instead.

No, FH's mom gave him hers. So we only registered for Correlle everyday dishes.

I had it on my registry until my Grandmother gifted us her complete wedding china set. I didn't want china originally until I talked to my sister about ( married two years ago). She told me that she uses her china whenever she has people over for dinner, or when she makes an meal that's more extravagant than most. My FH is an officer in the military and we move around a lot, but we also always had people over for dinners and such. I'm excited to use the china every once in a while! But that being said, I'm not taking my grandmothers china if we get an overseas assignment, so we registered for really nice every day plates, just in case. We also invited 240 people to our wedding, and my wedding shower had 80 people at it, so we wouldn't have been sacrificing other gifts we really wanted for the china...

Nope. We are registering for every day dishes that are a little nicer. We don't entertain ever, nor do we just sit down holidays where we feel we'd ever have the use for China.

We registered for a nicer everyday set from Crate and Barrel, which we love. I also have a set of fine china that I inherited from my grandmother, and we do use it for special occasions (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.).

We aren't because my dad has my grandmother's set that we are inheriting. We registered for nicer stoneware that we'll use everyday, I feel like that's a more useful gift than the china we'll only use once (or less) a year!
