Childless Wedding

Lakisha, on July 25, 2021 at 1:16 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 39
Hello Brides. Is anyone considering a childless wedding? I’m seriously considering it simply because my wedding is on New Years Day, so there will be plenty of alcohol and I’m having a plated dinner.

Yes! Well not completely childless, but my husband and I excluded kids from our upcoming celebration in October besides the 4 who are in the wedding party (our 2 kids & my niece/nephew). But we made it clear that no other kids are allowed

Yes. The only children will be my fiancé’s younger sister and nephew. Everyone else was asked to keep their kids at home. We are having a Saturday wedding at night and I think it’s too late for children.

Yes, although my FH’s nieces and nephew will be there since they are flower girls and ring bearer. Otherwise no other kids will be invited.

The only kids allowed at our wedding is the ones in it. I've been to to many weddings wear they allowed everyone to bring their kids and seen the very negative side of why you shouldn't have kids attending.

Exactly. The kids run around and the parents don’t control them. It’s just too much. One wedding I attended, one the flower girls pooped in her pull up and I watched that little girl for almost an hour to see if anyone was going to take her to the bathroom or something. I ended up getting the little and taking her to her Mother and asked if I could take her to the bathroom to change her.

The only children invited were our nieces and nephews (we have 10 between us). I would have completely childless if I could but my family would murder me and not come if their kids weren’t invited. I told my friends sorry but their kids aren’t invited I don’t have space. If they can’t come because of it so be it. I also think it’s safer to be child free with covid but as I said I really didn’t have a choice about my own nieces and nephews since my parents are paying for it.

Completely understand. I’ve already prepared myself that some family members may not come because they’re children aren’t invited but it doesn’t bother me at all. My little sister was a limited budget and she only invited Aunts and Uncles and no cousins.

Oh and my 3 nieces are my flower girls and my 3 nephews are my ring bearers so they are in the wedding as long as they are coming.

I did have one of my moms cousins RSVP and in the comments section they said they were bringing their teenage daughter and she would have the salmon. Didn’t ask me. So I guess I have a random teenage there too.

Oh hell no if I had an age limit on my wedding which I do (18 and older) I'd immediately contact her and tell her sorry but she isn't invited and if that means she couldn't come so be it. That is beyond rude of her.

I attended a wedding where the one child was running around hitting random people and the parents thought it was so cute. Then this same child was trying to eat the cake before it was served and knocked it over. And the bride and groom tried to get the parents to pay for it and the parents said that they shouldn't of had their cake on display, and so they weren't going to pay for it because that's what happens when you tease kids.

Yea I witnessed the whole thing, the parents were more worried about getting drunk then what their child was doing. I seriously thought the bride was going to whoop the mothers a$$. I just couldn't believe the parents didn't take any responsibility for what their kid done. But then again they are the type who can watch their children do wrong and then either blame someone else or say that their kid didn't do it. Once I witnessed that I knew immediately we wouldn't have kids at our wedding.

We don't have children so no little ones allowed! I truly want the adults to have a freaking blast and not have to worry about leaving early, etc.

The only kids allowed at our wedding are the ones in the wedding; our 2 flowers girls (my nieces) and our ring bearer and his brother. So 4 total.
