Cheap/fake wedding ring set?

Did anyone buy a cheap/fake wedding ring set to wear when they go on their honeymoon or out of town? I'm going on vacation in two months and I don't want to bring my rings but I feel uncomfortable going bare-handed. I was also hoping to find something that can be worn again, so maybe a ring set that...

Did anyone buy a cheap/fake wedding ring set to wear when they go on their honeymoon or out of town? I'm going on vacation in two months and I don't want to bring my rings but I feel uncomfortable going bare-handed. I was also hoping to find something that can be worn again, so maybe a ring set that doesn't look 100% bridal? Ideas? I've been searching etsy but I can't find anything.

Edited for spelling.

I got a free stainless steel band from going to one of those pot/pan presentations. I purchased a diamonique ring from QVC as my alternate e ring. I plan on wearing those instead of my real wedding set on our honeymoon.

My FH proposed to me with a fake ring, since the real ring didn't make it in time, so this one is my vacation ring. I was wearing it for a week, but with the sweating, my finger turned green. So make sure if you buy a cheap ring that you still go for silver or something, since green fingers are not pretty Smiley smile

Mrs. Cheapskate - I personally know someone who got married in an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. Right after the ceremony, they went cave swimming and the guy lost his ring. They spent hours looking for it and thankfully found it since the water was so clear (since it was an amusement park). I also know someone who they got robbed and their engagement ring was stolen. So it does happen. Like I said, I had mine because Jared's had my ring for a combined time of over 6 months for the first 1.5 years we were engaged. And I wanted a look alike so I didn't have to explain the situation to everyone every time someone saw me with no ring. It's just better to be safe than sorry in most situations. And that's okay that some want that security! Because losing a $10 ring is better than losing a ring worth more than your car and having to go through insurance.

Dancingbearbride - Yours is tough since it is more unique. Here are some that I found that were the most like it, but nothing matched it exactly:

Ebay! I always opt for highly reviewed China sellers and never had an issue.

I have a CZ, sterling silver and created sapphire ring that was my "placeholder" and is now what I wear if I think my e-ring will get lost or damaged (it's a tanzanite piece from my mum) - I wear it for festivals and in the winter since it's slightly smaller than my e-ring so fits better in the cold.

It's from a China seller on Ebay - good reviews and not one of the ones flogging 825 silver as Sterling.

Totally check out eBay. That's where most of my friends got theirs from. Some look totally fake.. Others a little better.

FH has gotten a few "practice rings" on amazon and that has worked out well. I want to get a fake ring for travel as well – you just never know and there's no reason to take a risk.

I bought a $40 set on Amazon that look quite similar to my real rings. I totally wore the fakes on my honeymoon bc I heard one too many tales of lost rings and bodies of water. My real set fits but if I get cold they come off very easily. Better safe than sorry in my book for sure.

I'm getting a plain rose gold band to wear on the honeymoon and any other beach trips because I'm paranoid that the diamonds are going to loosen because of the sand. Leaving it in the room is always an option, but I'd be terrified I'd forget where I placed it or it would get stolen!

Yay! I'm not the only one! I bought one since I got my real rings cleaned last week and won't be wearing them again until August. I also thought it was a good idea for travel and such. Found one that looked exactly like mine on QVC. I managed to find my style in the 1 carat and no one has even questioned it. Most of theirs were 2 carat or higher and that would have been a bit of a stretch. (though they were very pretty!)

Did your Mom, Grandmother, aunts get "fake" rings? I just think its silly. Its like buying a catalac and not driving it for fear you might get in an accident, so you buy a yugo and drive that instead. Eh, whateves

My FMIL got a fake set off HLN. It was gorgeous! She paid like $50 for the set. I'm thinking about getting an alternate also.

@Mrs Cheapskate Actually... My mother DID have a cheaper ring. It looked like an oxidized golden wooden log. It was the 70's... What can I say lol. My wedding set is a very expensive heirloom. It's insured as well. My hands swell in heat and shrink in cold (as most do), I was drying my hands at work, threw the paper towel in the trash, got half way back to my office, and realized my ring was gone. I ran back and dug through the tissues and paper towels until I found it. I see absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting to risk losing your ring and spending a little money on a fake one to wear while traveling. Just because it's insured does NOT mean I won't be pissed if I lose it.
