Cheap/fake wedding ring set?

Did anyone buy a cheap/fake wedding ring set to wear when they go on their honeymoon or out of town? I'm going on vacation in two months and I don't want to bring my rings but I feel uncomfortable going bare-handed. I was also hoping to find something that can be worn again, so maybe a ring set that...

Did anyone buy a cheap/fake wedding ring set to wear when they go on their honeymoon or out of town? I'm going on vacation in two months and I don't want to bring my rings but I feel uncomfortable going bare-handed. I was also hoping to find something that can be worn again, so maybe a ring set that doesn't look 100% bridal? Ideas? I've been searching etsy but I can't find anything.

Edited for spelling.

I wear a sterling silver ring to work, gym and going to wear it on honeymoon. Got it from Amazon.

My rings are currently getting sized. I didn't want to get used to not wearing my rings and it just felt really weird. So I am wearing a Walmart special for the next few weeks. Smiley smile

I'm thinking about this too. I also want a rubber one to wear to the gym. I'm terrified of losing it in the ocean or something.

I made this exact post and was getting tons of shit for it. Not sure why...

Anyways, I ended up buying a set on eBay. This set to be exact:

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/400696636219?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=670242728910&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And it's gorgeous! The price has gone up A LOT since I bought it though. It was $20, now it's $66.

I actually found my old bar ring (to keep the creepers away) the other day. I'll wear that when we go on vacations. Most people thought that was real over my real ring LOL. I bought it for like... $5 at Kohl's 12 years ago.

C&S - Sorry you got crap for your post! I know some people think it's strange. But I don't think it is. I don't like the idea of everyone asking me what happened if I am not wearing my ring because the jeweler has it or something. I'm kind of worried about snorkeling with my real ring on the honeymoon. We have insurance on it, it was just such a pain in the ace to get my ring right after all the eff ups, that I don't want to have to deal with it again. Lol.

I think I am going to get a wide band for when I don't feel like wearing my e-ring and band.

I also bought these for when we go swimming or hiking.

ETA: with pictures. I got the longitude/latitude of our ceremony site on the activity rings.

@C&S I think it makes a ton of sense, and don't know why people would give you crap. Sure, my ring is insured, but it also took 3 months to make/size and I'm really not in the mood to submit an insurance claim for losing my ring in the ocean or at a hotel when I just as easily could have spent $15 and worn a fake set.

    Owners of fake rings, unite!

I worked in jewellery for a long time and tons of people would buy an extra ring (most of the time just a small band) for travels and honeymoons. You are definitely not part of the minority for being nervous about it. It can be well worth the investment (even if it's just a 12$ investment!). I would try Claires or Icing by Claires as well. They tend to have some cute stuff.

That's understandable. FFIL lost his wedding ring while swimming in the ocean when we were on a family vacation in the Caribbean. FMIL was not happy!

My ring is just a white gold princess solitaire and my band has straight princess diamonds across. Most of the fake ones are 2+ carats. I don't care if it doesn't look like my rings though.

I am paranoid too! One of my friends will take her ring on vacation but will lock it up in the safe when she goes to the pool or any excursions and wear a fake one.

Snarky - I know it's a different band on the ring, but this is pretty:

It is strange that most of them are above 2 cts!

If you want a ring that looks like an imitation traditional engagement ring that isn't expensive, try "costume" type jewelry from charming Charlie/forever 21/Francesca's - something like that. That way if you do lose it, you won't be out too much money. A friend of mine did this when she went on her honey moon and enjoyed it since she didn't have to be super cautious with her ring.

I work as a nurse in an ICU so I get to deal with nasty stuff all day long and I wouldn't dare wear my engagement ring to work like some of my coworkers. I found a simple, thin, silver band from James Avery for about $60 that I wear while I'm working. I feel like it's feminine enough to not look manly but simple enough I don't have to worry about stones coming lose or taking it off for procedures and things like that. You could try to look for something like that too?

So...my question is for the gals who bought a fake ring to wear on vacation..... did you lose the fake ring, or get mugged for it, while on your trip? Nope! I wore mine every day for 20 years and never lost it. I bought insurance in case i lost it - but i never did. I will wear my new wedding ring in the same way.

Dancingbearbride - This wedding band looks like your e-ring kind of, just without the center stone:
