Changing the wedding date advice

So I found out yesterday that my brothers deployment has been extended out, which means he won’t be able to come to the wedding. Now I am thinking about pushing the wedding to some time in 2021. My fiancé and his family wants to just keep the date that is already set. My family wants to push the date out until a time where my brother is not deployed. It is important for me to have my brother at my wedding, this will also be the 4th time changing the wedding date due to my brothers deployment. I need as much advice as I can get. If anyone has been in a similar situation and anyone who is in the military, I would appreciate your advice as well. Please, I need all of the advice I can get.

This is a hard decision. I was 100% about changing your date until you said this would be the 4th time changing it due to the same reason. If you change it again, what’s to say he won’t be deployed next time? I think you should move forward with your wedding as planned. Or, set your wedding for as soon as your brother is scheduled to get back from his current deployment.

Honestly yes he's your brother but it's you and your fhs wedding. Howdoes he and his family feel about all these changes? I would say no more changes. It won't be great not having your brother there but constant changing will also start causing issues I feel. As I said in your previous post I think it's great wanting to include him but his schedule is not consistent

Hey there, Sarah. As this is the 4th time you would be changing the date, it may be a good idea to include your brother in the discussion. Is he confident he won't be deployed again after this date?

I have already talked with him and he wants me to keep my date. Since he does not exactly know when he will be coming back from deployment. We are going to try and video chat with him on the wedding.

As PpS said, I hope you kept your date. Changing it is fine but since it's been changed so many times before there's no guarantee of it not happening again. So keep the date and whatever happens, happens. Maybe he can be live streamed in!
