Ceremony-only venues in Maryland

Event Lady, on April 13, 2014 at 8:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Due to budget limitations I am looking into booking a casual venue for the reception for four hours during the day (Saturday). We could go to the courthouse for the ceremony, or we could fine a nice garden venue that is also affordable. Having everything at the same place would be great, but I am trying to save money every way possible. Any suggestions?

Does it have to be in Maryland? What's your budget?

The Liriodendron in Bel-Air. That's where my wedding is and it's gorgeous. Looks like something out of a storybook. It has a beautiful garden.

In most cases, the cheapest route is to book the same venue for both reception and ceremony. A lot of places don't want to "split", so you would be ending up paying twice.

Liriodendron was comparatively affordable when I was looking at that area, but there's also Historic Oakland in Columbia, and the Brookeville Academy in Brookeville.

The reception will most likely be in Columbia, MD so MD is the best location, but VA and DC also work. My budget for the whole wedding (as of now - with not enough money saved) is $5,000. The reception venue is $300 for 4 hours on a Saturday day. I am hoping for the ceremony to be around that amount or maybe a little bit more. Impossible?

Liriodendron has a great very small wedding package for $350 which might be possible if we have only immediate family there and then a big party the next day.

Brookeville Academy looks like a possibility too for both ceremony and reception!

    THANKS, Ladies!!
