Ceremony Music Ideas

Danielle, on June 17, 2020 at 10:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
So I’m getting married in October this year and it’s at a event hotel. I know the song I want to walk down the aisle to is crystal by Stevie Nicks and probably with the words. It isn’t a far walk down the aisle so I have to find out about how long so I know which part to choose. However this has caused me to have issues picking out other music for the ceremony. I’m not sure what would go good with when the guests arrive, when the bridal party walks down the aisle, ( our song to walk away shouldn’t be hard to pick) and then whatever music is needed after it. I’m a huge Stevie nicks fan and love classic rock. However I feel like if I’m not careful then it could end up sounding very mixed up and weird. Does anyone have some ideas on what would kinda fit good together with the song I wanna walk down the aisle to?

I think it’s ok if you find something different because they are separate walks !
Is there any other Stevie nicks song you like ?
For processional I had them walk to an Instrumental version of dan and shay’s speechless

I would consult with your DJ for ideas or check here:

If you have a mixed crowd then I would do a mixture of music

Hi Danielle! I think that playing arrival music for your guests in the same general genre and vibe is nice, but don't stress about it too much! Here's a list of prelude songs to help inspire you: 18 Wedding Prelude Songs to Kickstart Your Ceremony.

Also recessional music is normally way more upbeat because it's officially time to celebrate! 🎵

My first dance is leather and lace and I love all her songs! If I had the money I would hire her to play at the wedding 😂

My overall theme is more fairytale, enchanted forest, knights and fair ladies, so my music kinda reflects that but also pulls from different genres. Prelude: instrumental Celtic music. Bridal party processional: Where my Heart Belongs, a Celtic song. My processional: Once Upon a Time...Storybook (from princess bride movie). Our recessional is a bit more fun: The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson. But our into song for the reception is Golden Years by David Bowie from A Knights Tale.

Like Lynnie said, it’d be cool to pick something of similar genre, but they don’t have to be super close or all by the same artist.
