Has anyone ever heard of this? I was recently invited to a bridal shower but the bride & groom are not registered anywhere. They shower host just included a cutesy poem insert that basically asked for cash donations for the honeymoon .... but they don't have any sort of honeymoon registry either. I don't like giving cash for a shower gift, as I feel negates the point of a shower itself, which is to watch the bride open gifts - not envelopes. Does anyone have suggestions for a unique gift idea for people who allegedly have everything?

The idea of the shower is to shower a bride with gifts not dollar bills 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would 100% bring a nice shiny copy of Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette and a piggy bank full of pennies....

None of my friends would think to host a cash-only shower so it’s a moot point. They all seem to understand that you budget for the honeymoon you can afford and don’t depend on your nearest and dearest for cash.

Also, it seems like your new to these boards so I’d take a peak at the community guidelines as this comment 100% violates the rules. Good luck with planning everything

Who said they are saving for a honeymoon? I can speak on experience because we have our own place and dont need upgrades and I have everything I need. I actually didn't even put gifts on my invite but when they ask I say there will be a money tree but they are not required to bring gifts. I just don't see why it would matter if you bring a monetary gift or a store bought gift.

Literally OP said it’s for a honeymoon...also now that I look at it this is a zombie thread so the point is way past discussion anyway
