Cards against humanity reception

FH and I were wedding chatting, and he came up with 2 tables for Cards Against Humanity. I was so proud of him for thinking of such an amazing idea! And it is one of the highlights of our reception, that our guests are really looking forward to! I am so excited!

Nothing like pixilated bukkake and jerking off into a pool of children's tears to ring in the nuptials .

We love that game, I think it's a great idea. We played last week and FH got the card "why am I broke?" and lucky me I had the card "a shiny rock that proves that I love you!" We had to stop after that we were laughing so hard.

DH and I love that game! But, I'm with PPs. We belong to a board game group and there are members, both young and old, that always get offended, even if they're not playing but happen to hear a card read out loud.

I think this was already suggested, but could you fish the really inappropriate ones out (like the Auschwitz card), keep the so-so ones (like Fancy Feast, lol) and add tons of blank cards?

Lol @Chrissy I always dread the bukkake one because there's always someone who doesn't know what that is, and we have to pull up Urban Dictionary and read it out loud.

As someone else said, you know your guests best and if you think it'll go over well, that's fine. But for me, I'd look into other games to have that might be more appropriate for all guests, and save CAH for the after party.

Only you know your guests. I personally love the game, but I can see how some of my older guests would be easily offended by many, if not most, of the statements on the cards. But again, you know your guests best. =)

This is totally a know-your-crowd thing. I love it, and I'm sure I'd have a blast playing it at someone else's wedding, but I definitely wouldn't have the guts to break it out at mine.

I'm going to recomment to ask - What are your other guests going to be doing while you and your groom are off playing? Not sure of your guest size but if i didn't want to play I would feel obligated to leave because nothing else would be going on.

Sorry I didn't realize I got comments. FH and I will not be playing... it's more for our guests. But I am definitely going to go through the deck and take out the really uncomfortable ones.

We did it at a friends wedding. It was a super casual wedding though and we have all played together before. It was a lot of fun, but you definitely have to know the crowd.

Last time i played this game, it was at thanksgiving and my mom insisted she play. It ended in my sister and I on the floor in fits of laughter, while FH tried to give my mother the most straight faced, clinical definitions possible for words like 'queef' and 'bukkake'.

Man I would LOVE playing that game at a wedding (or anytime really). My family and even DHs (including his stodgy parents) love that game. My MIL is super uptight and we have to explain some of the cards to her but it's funny as hell and somehow she shockingly likes the game.

We had the bigger black box filled with all of our cards as well as jenga and regular playing cards.

Our guest list was small, 38, and no kids.

And to the people that say they would not come to a wedding where games are played; you realize that a reception is really just a party and how is dancing any more "grown up or adult" compared to playing a games, getting to talk to you guests and enjoy their company.

My dad started setting up the jenga tower and before he knew it, he was engaging in conversation with my DH's friends He had never meet.

Our guests loved it,so before you start snubbing your nosebup at something becaues it dones not follow traditional protocol, relax and take a step back you could be missing out on some fun!

I heard coloring is only for kids, but now there are "adult" coloring books and they are all the rage, so get your head out of your ass.

I wouldn't mind seeing simple games at a wedding. You have to know your guests. My 85 year old grandma wouldn't appreciate the crude humor in in cards against humanity. That I would pass on.

You do you. You know your crowd. Here's an interesting point to consider, though: http://www.dailydot.com/opinion/cards-against-humanity-problems/

I guess if you're okay with people yelling things like "an unexpected finger in the anus" and "Aushwitz" at your wedding then go for it.

I love this game. But for a drunken friday night. I would feel completely uncomfortable at a wedding hearing this going on.

I hate hate hate hate being forced into playing games, especially with strangers. I don't like games.

I had lawn games at my wedding. I didn't play them because we also had music!

WHY CAN'T YOU JUST PLAY MUSIC.
