Cards against humanity reception

LiveLaughKraft, on March 17, 2016 at 6:46 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 50

FH and I were wedding chatting, and he came up with 2 tables for Cards Against Humanity. I was so proud of him for thinking of such an amazing idea! And it is one of the highlights of our reception, that our guests are really looking forward to! I am so excited!

Errrmmm love that game, but some guests might be super offended. I'd save it for the after party.

The game is fun. I guess it depends on your reception, I'm assuming it's not a typical wedding reception. I agree with@Rosie it would be a lot of fun for the after party!

That was a concern of mine too... so we ran it by families, and parents and it went over well. We shall see how it all unfolds

I can't speak for all your guests, but that game makes me super uncomfortable. I don't see the appropriateness for a wedding. Sorry.

@becomingaMrs it's a typical reception however FH family aren't really dancers, so FH suggested doing that.

@OP I think you know your guests best. So if you think that people would find it fun and not be offended by it, go for it.

I would not attend your wedding if I knew we were playing games.

This might be better suited for an after party or maybe for after the rehearsal dinner the night before. My grandma is super cool and has an awesome sense of humor and I think even she would be offended by this.

Will you have other games as options for those that don't want to play cards against humanity?

I think it's fine. If it's two tables of the game, people have the option of NOT sitting there if they don't want to play. But will there be anything else on?

I think it sounds fun! people dont have to play if they dont want to. I've played it with my parents multiple times....awkward yet hilarious! as long as there arent any kids who might unknowingly stumble upon it and think its UNO, youre good!

We're going to have guests fill out our blank Cards against Humanity cards at our reception.

I love cards against humanity. You really do have to know your crowd though. I've also heard of people getting extras of the blank cards and having guests fill those in.

Eta: clearly I didn't read the comments. Lol @kathryn s

I will definitely keep everyone updated! @chocolatetier my niece and nephews are coming to the ceremony and after dinner per mom's request they are getting picked up by their grandparents. I said children were welcome to come, however guests said that they wanted a mom and dad night out and they'd find a babysitter, so it worked out. Cards against humanity will not be played till after dinner most likely, and it's open bar so it could get real interesting. There will not be any other games played besides cards against humanity, simply because both sides of the family love the game so I'm sure everyone will be playing. @ amy Yes it was quite interesting trying to explain to my mom ( who is conservative and has never played) what the game was. I downloaded the PDF version showed her the cards and said how to play and she started hysterically laughing which surprised me very much lmao! @Bella and @Catherine I didn't even think about that! Awesome idea thank you!

Love that game but something else to consider.... not sure how large the groups are that will be playing but when I was over with FH at Christmastime, we were at a NYE party and they played that. There were about 15 of us (or more) playing and it was just too many people and not nearly as fun. Everyone agreed.
