Can't pick a dress to save my life

I'm back I posted a discussion about 4 weeks ago with a few dresses that I was trying to decide between. The one that "won" you guys over had entirely too much "bling" or my taste. It was the Karena Royale by Maggie Sottero. I very much appreciate the votes, but I just couldn't sell myself on it....

I'm back Smiley sad I posted a discussion about 4 weeks ago with a few dresses that I was trying to decide between. The one that "won" you guys over had entirely too much "bling" or my taste. It was the Karena Royale by Maggie Sottero. I very much appreciate the votes, but I just couldn't sell myself on it.

So I found myself trying on dresses yet again last night.

I wrote down three that were half way decent, and although I'm not sure if any of these are THE ONE, I need to know if I'm on the right path. Be honest, tell me which ones are awful or if any are OK.

The first dress is Allure 2455. I think I like it, but its SO different than what I thought I wanted that I'm afraid to like it. I'm also worried that the front is a little too old lady.

Have you tried on different shades of white?

I think as an outsider it's really hard to tell someone which dress style to pick, especially if the person has a body shape that looks good in almost all wedding dresses. If you're leaning towards one or the other try adding a sash/belt and a veil and see if that completes the look for you. My dress is an Allure similar to your first one there, and I'd like to think I don't look like an old lady in it Smiley tongue https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/my-dress-is-finished-pics/0c2c1975e651c9a0.html

I agree with Miss Madeline though, maybe try on some completely different dresses. I went to five different shops and tried on around 50 dresses before I settled on mine, and even then I had two I really liked in the end.

I tried on a big puffy gown last night and it was entirely way too much dress for me. I've also tried on multiple A-lines and I feel like I'm wearing a bag. I can attach some more pictures Smiley smile

This is a dress my mom liked from the last trip a month ago. It was also the winner on my discussion poll. Unfortunately I felt like I was wearing a glittery bag Smiley sad

Ditto trying different colors/shades. True white is a very difficult color to wear.

Well if you are tied to the shop, try them all on if you must. but i like the toilet paper one, as your mom called it. just the thought of that would have me lol'ing!

are they giving you any assistance at the shop? i never would have tried on my dress if they hadn't suggested it. not in a bazillion years.

and don't think of it as messing up. it's a dress, not a husband Smiley smile

The cut is GREAT on you in that last one - the glittery bag. Can you find that shape, but without all the bling?

A glittery bag? That dress fits better on you than ANY of the other gowns...Do they have a similar one that's not..."glittery" I'm not really seeing any glitter on it, so I'm not sure if it has beading or whatnot that's not visible in pictures.

You have a figure that can wear satin too - Did you try anything like this?

The shop is definitely helping but I think I've exhausted my options. I really want lace, something fitted, and not too much bling. Those are my 3 do or dies. I would LOVE to have buttons, strapless, and scoop neck, but again I'm running out of options. My price range seriously limits me too Smiley sad

I like the glittery bag, but YOU need to like it.

There are different types of ballgowns. I know, like we need more variety...

I tried on an A line ballgown and it was very pretty and NOT NEARLY as poofy as some typical ballgowns.

I agree, maybe it's lace you're not liking and should try something else. Did you try any tulle gowns on? I like that last one the best but not the sash.

I agree with the rest of the ladies. Variety will be key for you! What you think you love may not be what you walk out it. I went in stating flatly, "No ballgown. No satin. No train." Aaaaaaaand there's a lovely satin ballgown with a cathedral length train in the closet.... Give it a whirl!

You have time - don't panic yet.

Can you try other shops in your area - even if you have to drive a little further.

Oh I could find PLENTY of Maggies and Allures online. The issue is that this boutique doesn't have any of the dresses I want to try on.

I so wish that I loved the Karena Royale, but I just can't sell myself on it.
