Can't Get Dream Dress - Need Alternatives

Alicia, on November 24, 2019 at 3:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
This is my dream dress. It's the exact look that I'm going for on my wedding day and I've had it saved as "THE DRESS" in my phone for years.

The shop that sells it closed in October and I have looked high and low for something that's even remotely similar and nothing even comes close. I've been to bridal shops, scoured the internet, and have found nothing.
The closest I've gotten are custom tulle skirts that I can order on Etsy, but nothing that really resembles the top. The only thing I can think of is to order the skirt, order a dress that has a top that I can live with, and have a local seamstress sew them together.
Any ideas or suggestions?

That is a beautiful gown! I'm so sorry you cannot find it anywhere Smiley sad

I have two suggestions:1. You mentioned finding a skirt and then combining with a top. I think that may be doable and you may want to look at bridal separates or bodysuits. I know designers like Leanne Marshall sell tops and skirts separately so that could be an option. Bodysuits are also popular to wear as the top with the skirt over it. No attachment would be needed. And, since it looks like the tulle from the skirt is used to drape the top, when you find a skirt ask them to also send some additional tulle fabric and a seamstress may be able to add the tulle over a plain bodice to create the look of your dream gown.2. I believe there are custom gown companies now available like Anomalie. I haven't used any personally, but maybe you would be able to contact them about your dream gown vision and they could deign something similar. I do not believe Anomalie is terribly expensive either ($1000 to $2000).
I hope this helps and that you are able to get your dream gown!

Their Etsy shop says they're closed, but I'm going to try sending an email here. Thank you!

I know I have had a few people gotten commissioned dresses from Molly Nguyen designs. I almost got my wedding dress commissioned from her but I found a different one that I loved. She has an Instagram and an Etsy. You can message her

The easiest plan might be to have the dress made.

I had found this designer when I was looking for a dress. I didn't buy from her, but her reviews were great. This is her etsy link, but she also has a webpage you can look up. She has a lot of similar skirts, and may be able to help re-create the top you want.

It's actually the same person! I just found out when she emailed me back saying that running two separate shops was too difficult and she decided to merge them together. She's thankfully going to make the dress for me through the shop you linked as a custom order.
