I don't think it's a big deal - but might depend on the kind of reception you're having. Canned beer might look weird at a black tie affair. But at my semi-formal in the backyard wedding, it would be perfect!

Personally, I wouldn't. I can't stand canned beer. If you like it and if you're having a casual, informal reception (I'm thinking park, bbq kind of casual), it would be fine. But even then, I would go for bottles. I'm not saying it's "wrong" to have canned beer, but I wouldn't.

At our biker themed wedding weekend, canned and bottled beer were in abundance. Way too much of it wound up in my stomach. : )

I agree with Alina. I think it depends on the type of wedding.

I actually prefer beer out of the bottle. I never use a glass. I have germ issues. However, I won't drink directly out of the can. I use a straw. It's a texture thing I guess.

I like bottles over cans… and as a guest in a cocktail dress I would like a glass~ or I would stick with wine. The guys probably don't care though.

We're doing bottles, and have a stash of beer glasses for those who prefer one.

I don't think it matters much, but we're trying to go fairly formal, and we don't have alot of heavy beer drinkers, so we'll go with bottles.

Totally would, then have one of your ladies pick up the cans before they leave and get some money back!

I would do bottled over canned. I personally think canned beer looks tacky, but that's just me.

I wouldn't do it for my wedding but like most said it depends on what type of wedding you are having.

Also think if your guests would mind as well. If they don't and it's what you want then go ahead.

I am having canned beer but cups the bartenders can pour it in if the guest choose that. The price fit our budget perfectly and we more than an abundance. I see us actually returning some of the cases to the store.

Not only were FH and I planning on that before getting a bartender, we were also going to keep the cans and recycle them Smiley smile we get .10 a can in Michigan lol

No. I'm not having alcohol anyway, but [i guess from where I come from] IMHO, it seems extremely redneck

I wouldn't...but I'm a beer snob and no beer that I would serve would come in a can. =P I'm with Mrs.B-Baby, have some cups for them to pour the beer into! =)

It depends on the type of wedding. We are having a formal wedding so there won't be any canned beer, and we're even having bottled beer poured into glasses (my mom's request, she's got weird pet peeves!) But canned beer is just fine if you want it to be, it's your wedding, you get to make the call!

I see no problem with itSmiley smile as long as you don't mind seeing cans in the pictures but IMO there is no difference from cans and bottles in pictures

if you don't want cans in the pictures just make the bartender pour the cans into cups but then it might be cheaper to get a kegSmiley smile

I agree with Kristin that whether it's beer bottles or beer cans to me it looks the same in pictures . Its still beer and pics of people holding it. As long as my guests are up dancing, partying, and having a great time. I'll be fine. Because for certain, I'll be dancing because I love it and I'll be drinking either my wine or my Crown Royal. Smiley smile

I dont see a problem with it, but I can understand all the other opinions. We are having a semi casual wedding and will have kegs. But we are also letting guests byob.. that being said, I know some will bring cans. I dont have a problem with it!
