Buck & Doe and/or Bridal Shower

Moss Wedding, on April 6, 2015 at 11:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Just a quick question. How many of you had both. Is this normal or is it greedy....just wondering. My Bridal party is hosting our Buck & Doe but my Bridesmaids are wanting to host a shower. Confused

We are doing both. Our wedding party is hosting the buck and doe and my cousin/aunt are throwing a shower. In my area that is common.

Is a buck and doe a co-Ed version of a bridal shower? If so, don't invite too many people to both events. Otherwise, it seems gift grabby.

From the showers that I've been to, the bride tends to have one shower for family members and then one with her close friends (so the only crossover guests would be the bridesmaids). I'm not sure if that's a family or regional thing, but that's how we do it.

What is a buck and doe? Is it a bachelor and bachelorette party? Or like a jack and Jill party (party to fundraise for the wedding)?
