Broke up with my Best Friend

My wedding is in 34 days & my best friend bailed. Her bf was having some issues & ended up moving back home (out of state) to get some help. She had already bought her bridesmaids dress (which took 6 weeks to come in) & she was a huge part of the actual day as far as coordinating goes. She decided...

My wedding is in 34 days & my best friend bailed. Her bf was having some issues & ended up moving back home (out of state) to get some help. She had already bought her bridesmaids dress (which took 6 weeks to come in) & she was a huge part of the actual day as far as coordinating goes. She decided to move back with him last month despite his poor decisions. As her best friend I stated how I felt about him, but told her I will stand by her no matter what. She lied to my mom & said she had already bought her plane ticket to come back for the wedding. She had been ignoring my wedding texts the last month & after the 15th text she tells me she can no longer attend the wedding & they are saving for their wedding. I was really hurt. I asked if a replacement BM could borrow the dress or pay half for it, considering it was last minute to ask someone. Turns out she already went to DB and worked out an exchange to get credit towards her wedding dress. She than calls me selfish for being upset...

    Allysia02 -- I agree with you. Natassia should absolutely edit out that very private information (I thought the same thing you did -- those BMs photos are all over this forum). And while she's at it, if she wants to do the decent thing, she'll remove the second reference to her friend's very personal issue on the other thread about BMs. Shockingly bad taste, and I'm sure plenty of people in her life have heard all about it. I rarely get personally offended by anything that's said on the forum, but that one did it.

    Thanks guys! Yeah I definitely learned a lesson with this whole experience. And Natassia I do agree that detailed info should be left out. I didn't go into depth on my friend situation and nor should you. Personal reasons should remain personal. I may not like my best friend and we may have broken up but I would not air her dirty laundry

    How are you feeling now Nikki within yourself? weddings can be stressful, and things blow up sometimes over nothing. I for one am in that category. Hope things have turned around for the better with the new bridesmaid.

    Update: so we did ask GMs gf and out of pure luck Davids Bridal had the dress in almost her size. FH and I paid for her alterations and she volunteered to buy the dress. It was really sweet and very lucky. I cried on the davids bridal floor lol. We have been double dating with the couple and she is being so kind and stepping up taking on my old BMs responsibilities. I'm sad I won't be sharing in this day with my best friend but I'm glad I found out her true colors and she ended up not ruining my day, just giving me some grey hairs lol
