I'm afraid everyone will pick the same dress except maybe 1-2 girls, there is 6 all together and that may be look odd. has anyone had experience with this? Which option to do you pefer? Matching or non Matching.

My girls live all over the country & 1 was going to be 8 months pregnant so we did a specific color pallet, length, & material. It. Made things a lot easier. I honestly prefer the matching but would've just been to difficult for my situation.

My plan was to let everyone pick their own dress, but they kinda pushed for me to pick it. We agreed on a dress I picked in a purple of their choice. I really like the way it looked, and I think the girls liked having a dress picked for them but being able to pick a color that looked good on them.

I'm #TeamMatching. All 6 will be in the same color, but my MOH will have a slightly different style.

I had a large BP (8 BMs) and I felt it would look more cohesive to have them all in the same dress. But I think having the same color and material, but different styles, looks really nice! It doesn't matter if most of them choose the same style.

My girls are not going to be matching at all. Each girl is wearing one of the wedding colors, in whichever style they prefer. I only have 2 bridesmaids and my MOH (who is my daughter) and want them to all be comfortable in a dress that they would wear again. All 3 of them have completely different body styles and skin tones so no one dress or color would work well for all of them.

I agree Greenebunny! Mismatched dresses look exactly that, mismatched.

I love the mismatched look and I wanted to give my girls the opportunity to choose dresses that they felt good in. I gave them color palette, length, and general style (blingy, formal) guidelines and let them pick any dress they wanted. Not everyone likes a look that mismatched, though.

I think a good compromise is to choose convertible dresses or different styles in the same length and color.

I didn't care if they all matched, just requested that they all be long. We had to go dress shopping together and they all ended up picking out the same dress, which was a bit funny since it's one they all thought they'd hate. MOH's ended up having a different neckline as she wanted more support due to the size of her girls from breastfeeding, but other than that they matched.

I find it shocking to learn that mismatched dresses look mismatched.

I like non-matching, personally. Or slightly different colors in dresses of the exact same style.

And Nancy, I'm still waiting for your BAM.

Nancy - I would love to see your BAM since you have such strong opinions about everything. Your wedding must have been absolutely perfect right?

ANYWAYS - matching dresses are definitely not required. My girls are all completely different. my FSIL is bigger, my sister is the definition of teeny tiny and my best friend is super athletic build. There's no way the same exact dress is going to look good on all three of them.

I dont have bridesmaids but I am def #TeamSimilar.

@SLR and @theD I saw those pics and thought "That's how you do bridesmaids right."

It's not a uniform and they're not props.

My girls are both in chiffon and will be in the same color, but they both picked different dresses. Personally, I love the different dress styles as long as they are the same fabric.

My plan was to pick color length and style and have the girls pick their neckline --the same dress came in multiple necklines at Davids---I was surprised when they all picked the same dress! So I guess my girls will match.

We did get my 11 yr old niece (jr bridesmaid) and different neckline because the one shoulder looked to old on her.

I'm a fan of offering a very narrow choice. The last wedding I was in we narrowed it down to 2 dresses by the same designer, in the same fabric and color. The biggest difference was that the bust of one was more substantial which was great for me. With the other I'd have been worried about a wardrobe malfunction all night.

For my girls I picked maybe 10 styles on Azazie. All same length, color, and fabric and am having them choose from there. This way they all look the same but there's options. My girls range from a size 2 with no curves to speak of to a size 26 with ALL the curves. There was no way we were finding a dress to fit all 7 of them.

I had told them they could pick whatever as long as it was the same color and length. 2 of them ended up picking the same one and the one who picked a different one happens to be m MOH, so that worked out. I got lucky that's how it worked but I was prepared for them to all be different.

I intended for my girls to be mismatched, just gave them long and navy blue. 3 of the 5 went shopping together (and me) and they all liked the same 2 dresses. my three "bigger" girls are wearing one style and the two "petite" girls are wearing a different style. My MOH is wearing the first style in blush. So i'm kind of in between matched and mismatched.

I picked color and designer and let each girl pick their own...they all ended up in a different style. I had so many different body types and I really wanted them to pick what they felt beautiful wearing

My girls are in mismatched dresses but I have to caution you. It is very stressful having different dresses be cohesive. I just asked floor length and gave a color range. I love the look of the finished product but I also realize it is not everyone's cup of tea.
