Bridesmaids & Groomsman issue

Alyssa, on September 4, 2020 at 11:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
So I have five bridesmaids including my maid of honor and my fiancé does not want any at all, how should i handle this? would it look weird if I sent 3 on his side for the ceremony just so it’s not awkward?

You could always have them walk down the aisle but not stand with you. They can take a seat in the front row after they walk

Is he not planning on having a best man? This is a little unorthodox.

Nope not even a best man, his best friend just recently moved and can’t attend the wedding at all.

So sad! Would you want to live Skype him in or something similar? He can’t attend at all?

Oh it's a shame you'd already asked your girls before his plans were set in stone? We're still not openly talking about our parties until we know for sure if my FH's cousins can get visas or not because we might replace the two of them with a backup if not. 😂 And if nobody knows, we can't offend anyone! Lol
For your situation, I think PP's suggestion of sitting down might work. I would think generally the bridesmaids should be downplayed in the ceremony in your case. I don't think it has to look weird if you ask them to take a seat or stand half and half on either side as you said. Unorthodox isn't a problem! 😊

Would he be ok with three standing on his side? Or as PP said, they could walk down the aisle but sit in the front row or something. My FH isn’t sure which of his groomsmen can come (everyone lives out of state) so we are having my Man of Honor stand with him. It won’t be even but it is what it is at this point.

I agree with the previous comments - they could walk down the aisle, and then be seated in a reserved row at the front of the ceremony.

You can just have them not stand up front during the ceremony. Reserve seats for them up front

He's an adult so it's his choice. Nothing to 'deal with'. You have two legal witnesses (or whichever number is required by your state) to sign the marriage license.

He doesn't need honorary attendants either if he decided not to choose regular ones Most people feel that being a guest is an honor in itself.

We didn’t have a wedding party but I still had my best friends get ready with me. I gave them the option to get hair and makeup done. I basically treated them like bridesmaids, they just got to pick their own dresses and sit with their husbands during the ceremony.
