Should I be annoyed that one of my bridesmaids who just recently got engaged like as in over the weekend and has chosen to get married the weekend after me?? I honestly feel like it's very rude. Am I over reacting here?

I think I would be upset too. Obviously you like her enough to be apart of your big day but I would think she would want the same. However it would be rude to tell her. maybe she has to pick that day for a reason only day a vendor is available, maybe family members have vacation scheduled or even the day is symbolic. I say being upset you will miss the wedding is okay. But If it has to do with your wedding that's not okay.

No you should not be annoyed and yes you are being petty. Weddings are not a competition. You should be happy for her instead of acting all jealous, just sayyin!

ETA: it's not her fault that you will be on your honeymoon. If you really want to be at her wedding then push your honeymoon back.

You get one day....I can understand being sad that you won't be able to attend. But there are many factors, as Im sure you know, in selecting a date and trying to work around everyone's schedule is impossible. eta: Also, wtf does the length if her relationship have to do with anything. You sound salty and petty.

I do think you're overreacting. However, if she's a good friend why would she plan her wedding knowing that you would be unable to attend!? I'd be upset about that.

Shortly after my FH and I got engaged one of my very close guy friends asked his girlfriend who I adore to marry him and they are getting married one month after us. Then one of my FH very close guy friends proposed to his girlfriend and they are getting married the month before us. Then because three months of weddings weren't enough another friend got engaged and they are getting married two weeks before us. At first I was slightly annoyed more so about the engagements since we were first it seemed to me that the excitement fizzled out as soon as someone else got a ring. But then I started planning our big day with my FH and I am loving having a lady who is going through all the same stuff as me. Another person to talk to about all the little stuff and be excited with. Also weddings are amazingly fun, it may be unfortunate that u will miss her day but perhaps you can use this opportunity to grow closer while you both are planning. That's the road I'm going and I think it is true you really only get the claim on the one day.

I'd be annoyed. My FSIL got engaged a few weeks ago and is having her engagement party the week before our wedding. I'm annoyed more because she is asking family to attend 2 big events in the same week including OOT family. It is going to be a strech for some of his family to come to both and I don't think it is fair to ask that of people.

I can see why it would be a little annoying. But at least she didn't rush to pick the weekend right before yours! Lol

I understand feeling some type of way about it, but in the end that is her call. Feel your annoyance today and keep it moving, focus on yours and the fact you won't be there for hers because of your awesome honeymoon.

Honestly I would say, there's 365 days out of the year to have your wedding and you know I will be on my honeymoon. Don't you care about having me there?

FYI- my good friend and I are both in each others weddings. I already set my date and she was thoughtful enough to make our weddings 3 weeks apart. Because honestly your wedding day can be any day. A good friend would be thoughtful. So yeah people, I would be mad. I wouldn't have my wedding a week after my good friends!

I would be bummed too. Not only are you m song her wedding but you may have mutual friends that can't afford to go to both. Maybe I'm overly considerate but I would not have planned a wedding so close to another friends unless there was good reason.
