Brides of 2020: How are you coping with the anxiety?

Charlotte, on April 1, 2020 at 9:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
I'm sure there are a million threads of this by now, but how is everyone coping? As a planner with a September wedding, the hardest thing for me to do is just wait and see. I'm still working so my job distracts me for the most part. When I'm not working though, I find myself thinking about the wedding and THE ANXIETY. I've even started to have dreams about the wedding...is there anything you guys are doing to help stay positive or distract yourself? (: I did buy a new craft via Amazon to try out. I'm going to see what this diamond painting trend is.

OMG I LOVE DIAMOND PAINTING. That will def distract you. They take A LOT of patience, but once you get into it it's very calming and a lot of fun. Make sure you get some modge podge for the finished product! I did a ton when I was planning for the wedding to give away as gifts, so I've sadly churned through my backlog of projects. Waiting on a custom one I got of me, my FH, and our late fur child.

Top one is for my fmil, second one is for my aunt/our officiant. I would def suggest doing the background first of your first one, then expanding from there. As for my other anxiety relifs, animal crossing has become a huge one. It let's me get lost in design and world building, and I also love just fishing for hours lol. Since most of my planning was already done - we were supposed to get married this weekend - it helps to not think about the wedding.

I'VE BEEN PLAYING ANIMAL CROSSING TOO!!! I'm so sorry about your wedding though. Have you set a new date?

Can I ask where you got your diamond paintings from because I love them!!! 😍 I just bought a basic one from Amazon and figured if I really liked it, I'd send more money and get a better one. I only paid $10 for this one so we'll see how it turns out 😂 The reviews were really promising!!

Those are both from Amazon!!! I also did an Elsa - which my FH affectionately called 50 shades of blue because it was mostly blue - and Lady and the Tramp for my mom. I love getting them to the point where you can see how the colors come together. It's a bit like pointillism lol. It's also get a lap desk and a drill box, because otherwise you'll be finding drills everywhere. I also got a bigger pen because the smaller ones were giving me cramps.

Agreed! August wedding and I am also a big planner. The whole “wait and see” attitude is THE WORST. I just want to know one way or the other at this point. Devastated is an understatement.

    Hi Charlotte,

Your feelings are totally normal! The stresses of COVID-19 are REAL. I'm so sorry you are feeling this way.

Something that has helped me is playing a "paint-by-number" app on my phone before bed. It can be super relaxing and helps me wind down!

Sending lots of love and peace your way!

    Smiley heart
