I'm in San Diego and I'm looking for help finding Venues under $200.

It might be a reach, that's why I'm asking here. I need your hidden jewels ladies!!! It can be from Oceanside and Escondido to Chula Vista and Coronado. Qualifications:

- 50-80 women

-Not outside

-Not rustic or countryfied

- Theme is Breakfast @ Tiffanys

-$300 is okay but not $400

P.S. I've already looked on WW for places and they're out of my price range :,(

Thanks in advance ladies!!!

80 people at a bridal shower is ridiculous. Also why are you finding the venue? Are you throwing it for yourself?

Who is hosting this and why so many people?

My mom and sister are throwing mine and my mom is hosting it at her house. Bridal showers dont need to become a second wedding, planning wise.

Why not let the host of the shower find the venue?

That's a FANTASTIC question @OriginalLaura but we have three weddings in the family this year and everyone is really tight with their cash. Not only that, but we do live in San Diego Smiley smile

You should not be throwing your own bridal shower. They are not something every woman gets and it's very gift grabby to throw your own. Also 80 women at a bridal shower is effing ridiculous.

    Just my two cents.

Everyone (only 4 families) that live out here in San Diego are in townhomes or apartments...not enough room for even 50 people unfortunately Smiley sad. My mother and Aunt are hosting this and they've asked for help. Only thing I could think of was come to you ladies for help! Like I said, those hidden jewels would be greatly appreciated!!

Do not throw your own shower. It is very rude and tacky. My FH is mexican, no, you do not need to invite all those people. If no one outside of your immediate family (not your mother, not your sister) offers to host one, then you don't get one.

I don't see anything wrong with helping your family if they asked. But I think you should try and cut back on your list a bit. How many guests will you have at your wedding? Also what kind of venue are you looking for for the bridal shower? A restaurant? A recreation space? is the 200 budget including food for all these people too?

I'm a little confused because if it's at a restaurant, they don't charge a venue fee.... which makes it seem like you are asking how to feed 80 people on $200. That $2.50 a person. You can't possibly be saying that. Because for that... ya'll can head to the dollar menu at McDonalds.

But if it's not including food.. I'm not sure what you're asking because restaurants don't charge a venue fee?

I honestly don't mind what kind of venue it is,as long as it fits the qualification above. And No the venue does not need to include food and such, just the space Smiley smile

You could look at some parks, or the beach?

I am a little confused though. What is the 200 dollars for? What is your budget for food if you go to a restaurant?

Can you rent a pavilion at a local park? Or at a church and you can make a donation to their congregation?

Check community centers, church halls, gymnasiums, banquet centered etc.

The only bridal showers I've been to are at someone's home. Try a restaurant if you want it somewhere.

I'm sure any restaurant can throw a brunch in their party room, you guys can just bring in the decor. Personally, a movie about a child bride who runs away to become a high end prostitute to escape her children is not the ideal shower theme but it'd be very easy to decorate.

No restaurant is going to execute a theme for you, but they will provide a space and food. The decorations are the responsibility of the hosts.

You just need a place that has a room to host/decorate. And restaurants don't charge venue fees, so you can put the $200 toward Breakfast at Tiffany decorations.

I live in Southern California, and your best bet would be a church or park that has a room to rent. Restaurants don't charge to use their location, but it would be hard to find one that is ok with 80 people taking over. Unfortunately if those two options don't work you will need to shorten your guest list.

Also as Jersey Jen said, a location is not gonna decorate or pull off a theme for you. The people hosting your shower would have to make the theme happen, but it might be easier for them if theme can just be "bridal shower"
