Bras...Girdles...Spanx

DOMINIQUE, on September 19, 2012 at 12:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Ladies, my biggest worry associated with my wedding attire is that I wont be comfortable. I have seen many beautiful brides in their wedding gowns with everything in all the right places.

Does this mean they were uncomfortable and unable to breathe? LoL!

Insight please...

I bought dr rey shapewear and it is the most comfortable and breathable spanx type shapewear I ever tried on. And it actually works! It smooths without binding, open crotch for easy BR access and it doesn't roll down at the top. I highly recommend it. Best part it was only about $45!

My seamstress at my dress shop is attaching my bra pads to my dress so that I won't need to wear a bra, because my dress is strapless this will work great! I hate wearing strapless bras anyway! and I say SPANX all the way. No matter what size you are they work wonders! They are not that uncomfortable either!

    Hi there Smiley smile

I think it depends on your dress. Do you have a zip up or corset? Do you have tight fited, ball gown, mermaid, etc. I love Spanx whenever I wear a skirt or dress it just evens everything out and you see no lines. If you are wearing something fitted I would HIGHLY recommend the victoria secret spanx they are life changers! LOL it has a super high waist so it flattens everything out from your boobs (sorry) down! LOL

Ashley, I havent even gone to look for a wedding gown yet. I just remember being a plus size girl at Prom wearing a full corset bra and a panty girdle! The most uncomfortable thing ever!!!!

I was asked by my seamstress that is altering a dress for a wedding I'm going to if I would be spanxing it. I told her no. Any shapewear I've ever worn has been comfortable. I'm going to wear a longline strapless (they totally hold the girls up!) and a crinoline and call it good!

I am the queen of body armor. Even when I was 98 lbs, I wore a "panty girdle". I didn't wear my Spanx on my wedding day because I had lost some last minute nerve weight. I only did control top panty hose.

For Cate's wedding, to calm my nerves, I ate. So, I bought a miracle suit because the corset I wore for my wedding(halter neckline) was not comfy. The miracle suit was comfy and had a gusset.

I would love to wear a miracle suit! LoL. However, my girls are 52H. Finding one to fit them and my body would be a mess. *sigh*

I didn't need Spanx but the girls always need a house...so I went to Nordstroms and got fitted for a strapless bra.....it fit so well and was less than I thought I was going to pay so I bought the Wacoal bra right there.

I am SO happy I can just wear a normal strapless bra with my dress because it doesn't come down that far in the back. So i don't need the long ones with 25 million snaps that cuts off my ability to breath. They gave me one of those bras when i went to davids bridal to try on dresses and i was DYING.

My gown will have bra pads sewn in them and I will most likely will be wearing spanx. I think it varies on others but spanx on me isn't very comfortable.

The thing that botheres me the most about all of thoes spandex kinda things is if they roll. You want it tight to hold you in but then it's more likely to roll and bunch. I'd try to find a full peice one (like in the picture a few posts up) one that's a bra and goes all the way to your knees

Dominique, see if you can have it sew in. Also do you have a bare necessities in your area? They go up to a 58 M I believe.

I'm wearing a longline bra and a pair of Under Armour shorts, LOL. The shorts are nice because they wick moisture. I hate the super-tight Spanx-like shorts. I haven't gotten the longline bra in the mail yet, but hopefully it'll be comfortable.

I'm wearing something very similar to the "miracle" suit. It's very comfy and loves how it shrinks the hips and waist.

Only thing I HATE about my mine is there are no "snaps" for easy bathroom trips.

Samantha, I do not want to be confined to something down to my knees. I think that will be so "not sexy" when FH goes for the garter! :-)
