Last week I started a thread seeking advice/tips for my photo shoot this past Sunday...
Well ladies, I am back and boudoir'd... is that a thing? Lol... anyway, for anyone who is on the fence about doing one/nervous for their own: here is my HONEST feedback.
Overview:
I bought four different-colored pieces of lingerie from Yandy.com - two 2-piece sets, a leotard and a lacy bathrobe (if you can call it that, lol).
Between our busy work schedules, FH and I rarely have time to play "dress up", so I thought a strictly-lingerie photo shoot would be the perfect gift for him.
I did NOT bring any props (i.e., pearls, bouquet, garter, etc.) because I wanted the focus to be on my body and outfits alone, and I'm honestly glad I didn't.
The Shoot:
TRUST your HMUA (if they provide one)
Before this photo shoot, I had never had my makeup professionally done. Mind you, I am used to wearing a full face of makeup to work every day, so I was mildly horrified when I turned around and barely recognized myself... She assured me that professional makeup turns out a lot differently in professional photos, and sure enough, she was right! Despite the heavy makeup, I looked just like myself in the actual pictures.
TRUST your photographer.
Some poses will feel extremely awkward and forced, but they turn out amazing in photos!
Unless you do Pilates/yoga regularly, prepare to be sore the next day... I held some of these poses for minutes at a time, and man am I sore - even two days later!
Last but not least, enjoy yourself, and let loose! This was the most nerve-wracking thing I have ever done, BUT it also gave me a HUGE boost of confidence and ultimately ended up being a very liberating and freeing experience for me.
