Big Budget Brides- BBB

Supaluvstar, on September 16, 2014 at 6:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 80

Are there any on here? I've noticed a few members are on strict budgets. Is there anyone on here that has a pretty hefty budget 50-100k or more to spend on their wedding. And what is the one "splurge" item you've spent the most on?

We ended up spending about 30-35k...The venue was 7k, food and beer/wine (open bar) ended up being about 13-15k

I have a $60k budget. Pretty much my whole wedding is a splurge, but the largest item is our venue because EVERYTHING is there so they are in charge of catering, alcohol, ceremony, and reception venues. For that we're paying around $28k.

I guess we are! LOL it was $85k because that's what we have saved, but probably won't need the entire budget. So I say between $65k-$75k.

Eta: our biggest splurge has been catering. We're spending close to $30k on catering. Then after that I guess is photo/video.

Our wedding cost between 35-40k. Biggest splurge was the venue which included ceremony, reception, food, alcohol, and centerpieces.

We ended up around $60k. Definitely the biggest "splurge" was either the espresso bar (you'd be shocked how much that can cost per head, I was) or the blue grass band that we had to hire out for the entire weekend just because I wanted them for processional and recessional. It was all worth it though (BAM post coming soon!)

We spent $44k (I carefully itemized), not including rings and honeymoon. Biggest splurge was definitely the food at $23k.

We're probably about a $35k-$40k. Biggest expense has been the venue at $21k which includes venue, ceremony, linens, coordinator, food, and open bar. Worth it. Love my venue!

Our budget is $50k for the wedding (excl. attire, rings, and HM). The splurges so far are are decor, food/bar, and music.

With everything all said and done, we will be spending about $40k. Our biggest expense was the venue (16k) followed by the photographer, then the florist.

Our budget is $35k but we'll probably be closer to $45k when you include honeymoon and rings. Our venue/catering is definitely the most expensive but our splurge was a photographer for $4k.

My cousin had probably close to a $100k wedding, and honestly they could have gotten their money's worth in much better ways. Their wedding was in Sonoma, CA at a private estate with a barn. The barn was pretty, but it was over 90 degrees that day and there was no AC. They could have gotten a much more impressive place with AC, and actual bathrooms (theirs were portables...nice ones...but still portables) for probably less money. So even though they spent that much, as a guest I wasn't that impressed.

We are going to end up spending between 30,000 and 35,000. Our venue is the most expensive but includes food, beverage, D.O.C, ceremony & reception site/fees, linens, and a few more things I can't think of right now haha

I believe it was called Atwood Ranch. I found this thing on their website that has a pricing for a particular number of guests and they probably had about 150 guests and it quoted $85k (here's the link, you have to scroll down to a box that lists different numbers of guests and the price: http://www.julieatwoodevents.com/dollarsanddetails.html)

It was pretty, but there was no shade, they set up a couple umbrellas that I was able to get under because I burn so easily and had no sunscreen, but everyone else fried. It was really fancy so all the men were in these suits and just dying. Then they had signature cocktails that were sooo disgusting. One of my family members took a sip and she was like "yuck" and continued to pass it around to like 4 more of our family to see if anyone liked it and we all hated it! They only had beer and wine which is fine, but they had really unique beer and they ran out of white wine (and I'm not a fan of red). It could've been better!

We have a big budget. But I'm trying not to use it. My biggest splurge was my dress. Almost 10,000. To custom make it. If I could see I would have made it myself lol I hate spending money. I saved **** doing the flowers myself. FH says just buy it but no. I like saving

Eta: of course the venue and catering was biggest splurge. I was assuming u meant after that

I guess technically I'm in this group. We are probably going to be spending around $60-70k for everything (including normal wedding reception expenditures, the wedding bands, and the honeymoon). Obviously hoping to keep costs low, but we are already in $45k and still need dress/suit, florist, rings, invitations, honeymoon, and other miscellaneous stuff. Eek!!
