Best Way to organize a wedding binder?

Lauren , on March 7, 2015 at 5:37 PM Posted in Planning 1 9

So I am in desperate need of organizational help, 1 my guest list is entirely on here and I cant figure out for the life of me how to print it displaying addresses. 2 I don't even know where to begin in setting up my binder, I have a huge tote full of samples and what not with no clue how to divide it. Would anyone recommend a good planner to purchase that is already set up so I would just fill it out?

I have a binder with dividers and lots of clear plastic inserts.

In the front I have a checklist

    my tabs are:

    Venue

    DJ

    Songs

    Photographer

    Officiant

    License

    Guests

    Bridesmaids

    Colors

    Florist

    Honeymoon

    Centerpieces

    Favors

    Cakes

    Invitations

Then whenever I see a picture in a magazine or whatever I just stick it in the clear plastic insert.

To print your guest list from here with the addresses go to:

    Guest list

    Reports

    Guests for Ceremony -- Custom

then choose the fields that you want to be on the report

    Export to Excel, then print

My tabs are almost identical to JCC to JCB with a copy of a contract at the very front of each section and receipts following

Call me clueless, but what are you using your wedding binders for? To give to a coordinator? Most of my contracts are digital, as well as quotes and photo ideas. Is this something I need to be making? Lol.

I have divided tabs with pockets. I can't remember my order but I have tabs for: guest list, wedding party(contact info, outfits and gifts), time line, day of timeline, budget, vendors, venue diagram for tables. Lol plus I am going to keep my receipts in a pouch.

714, I like to have everything in the binder so that I can look through it and take it with me to vendor meetings, etc. It also helps me to remember things that I need to do. If all of that is on the computer it is easy to forget to look at my list...but when my binder is sitting on my coffee table staring at me, it is less likely that I will forget.

You definitely don't NEED a binder if you don't want one! It is all in how you like to organize.

I started to use a binder, but then felt that all the business cards/flyers/etc. would keep falling out of the plastic sheet protectors. I purchased an accordion folder and labeled the tabs in a similar way I've already seen listed. The pockets are also large enough to fit full sized folders of information I have received from vendors. Like others have said, it's all in how you like to organize!
