Best places to buy white bridal shower dress?!

I don't post much, but this is my favorite topic on here!

I thought this website was so we can help each other with things, not belittle each other. I must have gotten the wrong impresssion.

Search "white dress" on macy's or amazon, I found a ton of cute options!

So hold on a second. If you don't know that you're going to your shower until you get there, how will you have a dress on hand and ready to wear? Will you just be carrying around a white dress in your purse until then?

People are asking because logistically, this whole "changing your outfit once you get to the shower" thing doesn't make sense.

I am doing the same thing. I chose a dress that I liked on renttherunway.com. My mom ended up going online and renting the dress I like under her own account. I have no idea when the dress was ordered and have no idea when the shower is.

I will still be surprised and will have something nice to change into. Who knows I could end up showing up to my bridal shower in sweatpants (it's cold where I am).

I was using the dress in my avatar as backup in case I don't find one I like.

What's the point of not knowing when it is?

ETA: Just asking because I think it would kind of awkward to change once you get there. And how do they know that you're not busy?

Did they not clear the date with you before they planned it?

I get how the location and details could be a surprise, but I don't get how you don't know the date.

Exactly like nicole said. I stated above I will be giving it to my Maid Of Honor so I can change into it.

How does any surprise party work if they don't know the date?

I agree with OGJaci, it's such a frivolous detail.

Wear what you already have, especially if you don't know where to get another white dress. Save yourself the time.

On a side note - is white a color you wear often? With showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner, engagement pictures, etc... there are so many events you'll want to be bridal and wear white to. But do you need 5 or 6 white dresses in your closet? I bought one dress that was very simple and styled it differently for each event. Personally, I don't wear white often enough to justify buying a dress each occasion.

Why can't you wear what's in your avatar?

This is the only white dress I have. I don't wear white that often, but I'd like more than 1 white dress because like you said, I'll have a few occasions where I can wear white.

As far as this 'surprise' that everyone is confused about. I don't know when it is. I know there's a shower, because duh. I know my mom and bridal party are taking care of that. I honestly don't think it's weird that this is how it's happening. I really thought it was normal. I don't know when it is, I want to get a dress now so I can still pick out what I want in case it's soon. The dress in my avatar is my back up dress.

Also, I'm not sure where I was pretending that I knew nothing about the shower. I know it's being planned, and that's the extent of my knowledge. And I'm open about giving my MOH a dress for me for the shower because I want to pick my outfit.

This made me laugh so hard for no reason.
