Best foundation to use?

Jenna Whitt, on April 7, 2014 at 6:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

I have exceedingly pale skin, and finding good foundation is difficult. I recently tried the new Kat Von D stuff and loved it, but want to find the "perfect" kind to use for the big day. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Makeup Forever HD foundation is supposed to be one of the best foundation to wear if you're going to be photographed (like weddings) I have it and does the job though it is quite expensive. MAC studio fix is also good for photographs.

I have used 2 types. one from lo'real which cost me 10 bucks at walmart and another from mac which cost me 37 bucks. I liked both but im more favorable to the lo'real one which doesn't smudge as much as the mac one. the one from mac leaves your skin looking very smooth and porcelain like, but I felt when I touched my face it would all come off on my fingers.

Makeup forever, MAC studio fx, bare essentials (if it's an outdoor wedding ) The best thing to do is call your local Sephora and book an appointment top have your foundation matched. They will find an exact color and should be able to provide some samples

There is actually a sephora special right now - the Makeup Forever HD kit for $79. It includes the primer, kabuki brush, micro-finish powder, and foundation. Too bad the lightest color is already sold out :/

Revlon color stay liquid is comparable to makeup forever HD foundation. make sure you get the one with less SPF - that is the whole issue, high SPF gives a white cast in photos. i used it in my engagement pics and it was perfect. there are two different types of the color stay though so be cautious when you purchase it. it comes in normal skin type and oil skin type. i believe the oily one has the lower SPF. if you go to ulta the girls there can give you an idea of what their thoughts are for color match but they cant actually color match you like they could if u were to purchase a non-drugstore brand of foundation. good luck!

FutureMrsHicks!! Nooo don't use Bare Minerals. Mineral foundation does NOT photograph well. I've been told this by several makeup artists. They don't recommend this foundation for wedding day.

I use MAC Studio Fix. I have both the liquid foundation and the powder and usually just wear the powder for lighter no-big-deal days now that my skin is clearing up (thanks Dr. Dermatologist!). It seems to photograph really well.

Definitely get something with low or no SPF. It does ruin pictures.

I use Revlon 24 hour whipped foundation and I love it. I have been professionally photographed in it before and no white cast.

I use Mac Studio Fix liquid everyday and I love how it photographs. I would definatly give that a try for your big day. I also agree that Bare Minerals does not photograph well! I jumped on the Bare Escentuals bandwagon a few years ago and then hopped right off after that. It just didn't do anything for me. But, it does look stunning on other women and I think it's great for everyday if you love it. I just wouldn't suggest it for your wedding day.

I hear NARS sheer glow is awesome, however it's on the pricier side. Laura Mercier or maybe bobbi brown...

I use Urban Decay Naked for daily use. I have Christian Dior Airflash for the weekends and special occasions. It's a little pricey, but amazing!!

Mac Pro Longwear is really amazing. The coverage is buildable and it lasts for 15 hours. I am pretty pale and I'm not even the palest that Mac goes, so I'm sure you could find the perfect color.
