Best and worst bridesmaid gift ever received?

Best: the bride had us in semi fitted dresses that were a low V-neck, so she got each of us a VS bra, matching thong, and perfume.

worst: I am pretty light skinned, and the bride gave us bronzer. I don't even know what happened to it.

I am currently a bridesmaid but the wedding isn't until September so I haven't received a gift. I am planning on doing a personalized tote and tumbler for the girls they won't say bridesmaid but will likely say their first name unsure yet. I had considered getting them yoga pants or sweats to get ready in with their last names on them but since everyone is a different size I don't want to guess and get it wrong and hurt someones feelings.

Best- a friend paid for our dresses!!! Yeah. It saved me $100.

Worst: $10 worth of crap from the dollar store. I would much rather have had the $10.

Best- pearl set jewelry

Worst-flip flops- They weren't even personalized.

As a bridesmaid once, all the bride gave us was a pair of earrings - but it was greatly appreciated and we didn't whine or complain. It was actually kind of cool, she bought 5 different pairs (for 5 different bridesmaids) and we got to pick which one we wanted. Nobody got an ugly pair or anything because they were all nice and would go with any outfit!

Worst: Jewelry

Best: Dress and shoes

Best: The BM dress. She bought us all black dresses and her mom custom made belts for us to go with them. I have worn that dress so many times.

Worst: Earrings that made my ear itch REALLY bad. I wore them for the ceremony and pictures and took them out immediately!

These were actually from the same bride! Funny how both gifts made both slots.

I don't think giving jewelry is bad or wrong. i guess if it is jewelry you will never wear again. i got my MOH's opinion on which earrings she liked, so i know they are good. I'm also giving them little make-up bags embroidered with their first initial, personalized hangers, shot glasses, hand lotion, and a letter superimposed over a picture of us.

I've only been a bridesmaid once, and we got jewelry to wear at the wedding. i didn't think it was bad at all! i didn't expect a gift at all! it's too fancy to wear on a regular basis, but i can wear it when i'm in a dress (and i wore it with one outfit in my boudoir pics).

So basically nothing that is related to the wedding is a gift, monograms suck, and yes to paying for their dress and makeup oh and pampering is also good. Great post so glad I read this before I purchased gifts.

Best - I only attended to one bridesmaid party of my work colleague. Got monogram necklace from NamePlateDepot it looked cute overall. No worst one..
