I am! We're getting married at the end of the month. The WeddingWire checklist has been invaluable. I will say that it was very stressful between February and April because we also bought a house at the same time. But a wedding planner just wasn't in our budget (see: new house).

I'm also not planning to hire a day-of coordinator. Our venue's event manager told us not to, and I've been assigning typical coordinator jobs (giving vendors our tip envelopes, gathering the bridesmaid bouquets for decorations, serving as the point of contact for the shuttle, etc.) to bridesmaids and my parents. They don't mind.

I have planned my wedding without a planner or coordinator. It has been stressful for sure but I have a wonderful support group and help from my family. I still have three months to go.

We are getting married September 2023. We recently moved to our new home. He's about to finish more certifications (aviation mechanic), I'm preparing to get certified (substance abuse counselor) and trying to plan a wedding. I've helped plan weddings before but its a whole new ballgame when its your own. And add that it's a destination wedding (Savannah, GA or St. Augustine, FL). I might just pay that extra $$$ to have a planner.

I'm planning ours! We only got engaged in April (2022) but made the slightly radical decision to go ahead and get married this year in September... as in 90 odd days time...

Me!! My wedding is in September and everything is coming together 🥰

I planned mine and happy I did, everyone all had the right details and they knew what do incase something came up.

Oh your getting married 1 month before me! We are getting married here in NC at a castle in Jamestown NC its called Castle McCulloch. It seems like its taking forever but i Know its right around the corner. I have been thinking hard about hiring a wedding planner but we shall see.

Oh i bet your so excited! I know i would be. I'm getting married october 2023. We are planning so much of the wedding on our own but gonna get some venders also. We are getting married at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown NC. I'm trying not to stress. I know that I have my daughter and my family behind me.

Oh i will post a lot lol. My fiancé was the one that found the castle i was a little iffy about it but as i started looking more and more at the Castle and pictures ohhh I feel in love.

Many couples don’t hire any planner. It could be due to budget or family tradition or any number of reasons. Some couples prefer to plan their own wedding so they get things their way and then hire a month of coordinator to tie up all the loose ends and make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. That is above the pay grade and capability of a relative or friend who would not be able to enjoy themselves as a guest.


Some couples prefer to essentially be a guest at their own wedding and have someone else make all the decisions.
We felt that full planning is too restrictive so we chose a month of coordinator and are planning the majority ourselves. We aren’t asking friends or family to help make major decisions.
